Other things to note *They set up the market in the morning, and take it apart in the evening. Which means it get's quite noisy 6am-7am (with plenty of lively action and a great vibe during the day) and then around 7-7:45pm again. Being right in the centre of the city, it can also be privy to noise from party goers or the hustle and bustle of tourists. *It is safe. There are restaurants open till late, a huge hotel and a tiny shop open 24/7 on the square, people, security etc. Chances of pickpocketing in central Cape Town are lower than, say, in central Barcelona. But still - it's central, it's relatively touristic, and it's a little deserted from 1am - so please use common sense and be reasonable. If you feel unsure about something being 100% safe - don't hesitate to ask the lovely security person at the front door, or drop me a mail. *Parking - there is no allocated parking, on street parking nearby only available on a first come first serve basis. It is paid parking 8am-5pm Monday - Friday and 8am-1pm Saturdays (R4/15min or R16/hr). After these hours and Sundays or public holidays are free, OR, there is cheap and secure parking close by for those of you renting a car. Please be cautious and conservative with water use. Some small things that each individual can do to help: -Keep Showers as short as possible. -Turn off the taps when not actually using the water (ie while brushing teeth, shaving, soaping up, washing hair or dishes.) -While heating up the water, collect excess in a bucket/bowl and use for cleaning. -Make sure you put a full load into the washing machine and dishwasher before starting a wash cycle. We kindly ask all guests to treat the apartment with care and respect, as if it were their own home. Please be mindful of furniture, appliances, and decor to ensure they remain in excellent condition for future guests. Any damages or issues should be reported immediately. This helps us maintain a high standard for everyone’s comfort and enjoyment.
