A 100-year-old historical home beside the Gatineau River on the main street of Wakefield Village. A spacious 6 bedroom house that could sleep 18 people quite comfortably with kitchen and laundry facilities, gardens and fire pit in the yard as well as private dock on the water for your swimming enjoyment. The space Maison de la Riviere-Eastview Riverhouse —We would love to welcome you to our spacious, six bedroom, 100 year old historical home directly beside the river and in the centre of Wakefield Village. Upgraded for modern living, we have private river access with a spectacular view of the daily morning sunrise. You have use of the entire house, with access to bedrooms according to the number of guests booked. The second floor four bedrooms are always available for up to 8 guests. When 9-10 guests are booked, Bedroom 5 is opened and 11 or more guests gives you Bedroom 6 as well. If you are a group of 8 or less and need all 6 bedrooms a 120.00 cleaning and maintenance fee is added for each additional bedroom. There are kitchen and laundry facilities, a deck and barbecue off the dining room, the fire pit outside and large private dock on the water for swimming. We are located between coffee shops, boutiques, restaurants, bakeries and bars all within easy walking distance. It is an ideal house for family groups attending weddings in the area or ski groups during the winter ski season, as well as anyone wanting a getaway to enjoy the enticing Gatineau River from our quaint and somewhat unique village of Wakefield, Quebec. Vorlage ski hill is one kilometre away and we’re within 30 minutes of Mont Cascade, Edelweiss and Camp Fortune with Mont Ste Marie being just 40 minutes north off highway 105. There is quick easy access to summer walking trails, mountain biking and 200 kilometres of groomed winter cross-country ski trails throughout the Gatineau Park barely a kilometre away. Canoe, kayak, paddle board and bike rentals are 100 meters down the street. It is a perfect home base to enjoy area activities and special events from. Guest access You have use of the entire house, your hosts Ed and Gaye live two doors down while you are in the big house. You have access to the entire house except bedrooms are opened according to the number of guests booked. Generally the second floor-four bedrooms--Bedrooms 1 to 4 are always available. If there are 10 guests in your group you have the choice between Bedroom 5 or 6 in addition to bedrooms 1-4. For more than 10 guests booked, all 6 bedrooms are made up for you to use.
