Feel at home at this elegant and beautifully appointed 4 bedroom cottage set on a secluded and beautiful acre of private property with a swimming pool along a tranquil road in Karen / Hardy, Nairobi. The space This quiet cottage is located in a peaceful and leafy suburb of Nairobi known as Karen or Hardy. The cottage is set in one acre surrounded with trees and along a quiet road adjacent to the main house. With your own front door you have 100% privacy, so you can enjoy a truly peaceful setting. The Hardy House cottage is an extremely comfortable 4-bedroom cottage. Bedrooms 1 and 2, both with comfortable double beds, are accessed from the main living area. The large living area includes a fireplace and large round dining table comfortably seating 9 people. There is a fully equipped kitchen and a comfortable verandah with a super outlook over the gardens and the trees beyond. From here you can access the swimming pool. The 2 additional bedrooms are accessed from the kitchen. They include 1 double bedroom and 1 twin bedroom. There are 2 bathrooms with excellent showers in the cottage. The cottage has excellent WIFI throughout and the living room has a large screen Internet TV that includes Netflix, Amazon Prime and 100’s of channels. The garden also has a kitchen garden and a herb garden which you are welcome to use. There are 2 sun beds located by the swimming pool. You will see many different bird species such as the African paradise flycatcher, Hartlaub’s Turacao and various bee-eaters. At night you will hear the sounds of the wood owl, bush babies and tree hyrax. You will also meet our entertaining ‘socked bantam’ hens and 2 wonderful, respectful and friendly dogs, Paska and Paloma. With convenient access to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and Wilson Airport, we are situated very close to the Giraffe Center, Sheldrakes Elephant Orphanage, the National Park, the Karen Blixen museum and some excellent local restaurants including Cultiva, The Talisman, Cultiva and Boho Kitchen. Upon your arrival you your kitchen will be stocked with fresh local fruits such as mangoes and pawpaw, eggs, fresh bread, Kenyan coffee, tea, juice, cereals for your breakfast. If you arrive in the evening / night from a late flight, you will find one of Gladys’ fresh butternut soups on the stove! The house is surrounded by a stunningly beautiful garden and a large swimming pool, a kitchen garden, fruit and avocado trees and a larger vegetable garden. What makes our place so special is our lovely staff who will take care of you and keep the house, your bedrooms and bathrooms clean and tidy with daily housekeeping that includes washing and ironing. You can treat the cottage as your own home and self-cater. Alternatively, let us shop and prepare meals for you. We can also arrange a dedicated chef as required. Do please note the Airbnb booking policies and that booking is made for the number of adults and children selected on the booking process. Additional guests invited to stay after the booking is completed do incur additional costs. Transport can be arranged with trusty private taxis at local rates for airport transfers, local sight-seeing, restaurant visits and shopping. Tipping is customary but not mandatory.
