On a peaceful corner of Dutch Cochin, CGH Earth found a historic plot of land that has seen much building and rebuilding since the early 1700s. Perfect for an an elegantly curated fusion of styles, tastes and ideas. At once a celebration of Fort Cochin’s Dutch heritage and its vibrant contemporary cultural pulse. When it was finished, we called the outcome Eighth Bastion. The space The nineteen rooms are contemporary in design with Dutch influences. Most of the rooms open to airy patios or balconies; the perfect setting to admire the sunset or get a breath of fresh ocean air. The modern bathrooms are warm personal spaces with luxurious floor tubs and rain showers. VOC-branded furniture invite you to sit back and relax as you take in the nautical themed artwork on the walls. There’s an espresso in the lobby to meet your daily caffeine requirements, and an infinity-style pool near the central courtyard when you’re in the mood for a good splash. Guest access Guests have access to the East Indies restaurant, the business centre, the infinity pool, the espresso bar and to the wi-fi. Other things to note The Cuisine The East Indies Restaurant has an eclectic menu that covers the complete sphere of Dutch influence in the Indian Ocean ring.
