Matilda I-special Finnish hut with private jetty

Our Matilda I is a very special, very cozy Finnish hut. It was built by us in 2015 and is located on a plot of 800 m² for your exclusive use. The house was decorated with a lot of love. If you want a vacation away from large holiday parks in nature, you will feel comfortable here. The cabin is also ideally suited for anglers. The space Matilda I – Your cozy Finnish cabin on the water Our Matilda I is a real gem! With its beautiful wooden beams and open design, it exudes a warm, inviting atmosphere. While Finnish cabins in our region often date back to the GDR era (like our Matilda II, which is in its original condition), this one was rebuilt just a few years ago – with a lot of attention to detail. On the ground floor you will find a spacious living, kitchen and dining area, a modern bathroom with a walk-in shower and a hallway with a wardrobe. On cool days, the fireplace provides cozy warmth in just a few minutes. In addition, infrared heaters make the cabin habitable all year round. Firewood can be purchased cheaply directly on site. All windows can be darkened and are equipped with sun and mosquito protection. Upstairs there are two bedrooms with cozy double beds. There is also an open area with a large desk from which you can enjoy a wonderful view of the countryside and Lake Drewensee. The Finnish cabin can accommodate up to four people – but tent friends also get their money's worth: on the spacious meadow, little adventurers can pitch their tent and spend a night under the stars. Enjoy nature & relax Outside, the open terrace invites you to grill and relax. Due to the natural vegetation on the property, you can freely choose whether you prefer to enjoy the sun or look for a shady spot. A special highlight is the covered terrace (about 20 m²) – perfect for listening to the gentle patter of the rain with a glass of wine. Another covered seating area is right in front of the boathouse and on the house's own jetty. From here you have a picturesque view of a small bridge and the Drewensee behind it, which is only about 100 meters away. Our cottage is located on the "Alte Havel" canal, which is used exclusively by residents – a paradise for anglers who want to try their luck directly from the jetty. If you want to explore the Mecklenburg Lake Plateau, you can easily launch your boat from the jetty. Swimming, paddling & exploring The first small forest bathing spot on Lake Drewensee can be reached in just three minutes on foot, and the official bathing spot is less than ten minutes away. Lake Drewensee is closed to motorboats and offers a quiet oasis for swimming, sunbathing and fishing. A special highlight is the Schwanhavel – a picturesque paddling stream that is known far beyond the borders of Mecklenburg. Start an unforgettable tour through the Schwanhavel to Wustrow directly from our jetty, stop there for a leisurely meal and paddle back relaxed – a perfect day of vacation! If you want to enjoy fresh smoked fish from the fisherman, you can reach it in just 15 minutes by paddle boat. Alternatively, you can also use bicycles or go hiking. Our Finnhütte is located in the tranquil Ahrensberg, a small town with less than 80 inhabitants – ideal for those who love nature and tranquility. Additional information • You can rent boats directly from us at a reasonable price. • Bed linen & towels can be booked for € 15 per person. We look forward to welcoming you to our Matilda I! Warm regards, Alexandra & Peter Guest access Our guests have access to the whole house, the covered terrace with a very relaxing view of the "Old Havel", the garden and the jetty reserved only for guests. Other things to note Boats can be rented cheaply on site. Water/sewage and electricity are billed according to consumption. For this, we charge an additional cost advance of 100 EUR upon arrival. At the end of your stay, you will receive a statement of the costs from us and we will transfer the remaining amount back to you. Laundry packages can be booked for 15 EUR per person. Please let us know before arrival if you would like them. For additional guests (more than 4) we charge 20 EUR per person per day, for children up to 3 years 10 EUR per day. Please coordinate additional guests with us beforehand.
