5 km from Saint-Girons and close to Saint-Lizier, known for its medieval city, you will stay in the quiet, small hamlet of Aubert where time seems to have stopped, with stunning views of the Pyrenees and Mont Vallier. You will have the joy of discovering in the surroundings a small authentic farm as well as the river Lez by the edge of which you will find a small shaded beach to cool off by the water. Weekly or weekend rental (minimum 3 nights). The space House with 2 bedrooms equipped with plenty of storage and can accommodate up to 6 people (1 bedroom with 2 double beds and one bedroom with a double bed). Sheets and linen are not provided. Possibility to provide them with a financial contribution. Sheets and towels: €15/bed. The equipped kitchen is very bright, open to the living room with a fireplace, very pleasant for an evening by the fire to share friendly moments with family or friends. The kitchen is open to a south-facing balcony with stunning views of the mountains to admire the scenery. This balcony overlooks a small courtyard surrounded by greenery, with a large table equipped with a parasol to share meals with family or friends. Sun loungers are also at your disposal, and you can enjoy the tranquility of Aubert and the gentle flow of the river and its waterfall flowing a little further away. A barbecue is available for grilling as well as an outdoor lounge. The large garage offers the possibility to drop off bulky items (stroller, bicycles, motorcycles, trailers, quads, etc.). Our house is perfect for a family or group of friends who want to enjoy a quiet stay in the Ariège Pyrenees. Documentation, brochures provided by the local tourist offices are available to prepare your outings/hikes. Guest access You will have access to the entire accommodation as well as the south-facing courtyard to share a friendly moment with family or friends while enjoying a remarkable view of the Pyrenees. You also have at your disposal a small barbecue, a table and garden chairs as well as an umbrella, deckchairs and an outdoor lounge. Finally, if you wish, you also have at your disposal 3 mountain bikes equipped with locks to ride around. Other things to note To visit: - Saint-Girons and its large craft market on Saturday mornings. - Medieval village of Saint-Lizier, a UNESCO World Heritage Site: cathedral, Bishop's Palace, fortifications and charming alleyways. - Aubert marble quarry: the Romans exploited it as early as the 3rd century. This marble was used for the decoration of the Hagia Sophia in Istanbul and it was used for Napoleon's tomb at Les Invalides. More recently, Aubert's large antique marble was used in New York in the glass tower called MoMA. - Prehistoric caves of Mas d'Azil and Niaux, classified as historical heritage. - Labouiche underground river, to be explored by boat. - Villages of Antras, Seix, Balaguères, Mont Valier nature reserve, Lers pond, etc. Activities: Nearby (without car): - Walking or mountain biking on the shaded path of the canal leading to St Girons. - Trout fishing on the Léz (300 m). - Possibility of paragliding at the club located in Moulis. Nearby: - Sale and tasting of local cheeses: Bethmale, Moulis (about 5 km, in Engomer) - Rafting, kayaking and canoeing, white water swimming, etc. from the village of Seix: the Couserans nautical base site - Canyoning, caving, climbing, ...: vertical horizon site - Numerous hikes for beginners or experienced hikers (Cagateille circus, Mont Valier massif, Ribérot valley, etc.). - Etang Rond and Etang Long Eychelle Pond Etang d'Ayes Ars Waterfall - Swimming at the recently opened aquatic center located in Saint-Girons. - Guzet ski resort. Possibility of mountain biking in summer and also sledding - Snowshoeing at the Lers pond. - Fitness at the Aulus-Les-Bains thermal baths. Events: - "Autrefois le Couserans" (early August). - "Rite and Dances of the World Festival" (early August). - Transhumances (May/June).
