Heartwood cabin is a ~100 year old redwood cabin that has been renovated with modern amenities yet retains the vintage cabin charm. Installed new central heating but also has woodstove and we supply the wood. No need for Air conditioning as we are in a redwood forest so if hot elsewhere, the forest provides Mother Nature's own mystical AC. There are 2 bedrooms with queen beds and 1.5 baths (half bath in the master). We supply soap, shampoo, conditioner and toilet paper as well as luxury towels. We also have a blow dryer. The master bedroom is spacious as well as the main bath. Rest of cabin is cozy and comfortable and very functional. We comply with COVID recommended enhanced health and safety cleaning. In addition to laundering of sheets and towels, duvet covers and shams are laundered after every guest. Appliances include convection oven, microwave, dishwasher, toaster and coffee maker. It is really is a kitchen that would make a gourmet cook happy with many kitchen tools like salad spinner and roasting pan as well as handheld mixer for baking. We also have a cocktail shaker and glasses and a blender for your use. We provide essential spices, oil and sugar and coffee. We also provide paper towels, unused sponge and dishwashing liquid, hand sanitizer, and laundry and dishwasher detergent. Washer and dryer for all the conveniences of home. Internet is super fast. TV/cable to watch your favorite shows. There is plenty of free parking on the street. Trees are everywhere, we are in a redwood forest with a magical fairy ring. There is also a sunny deck. You will find a small ice chest, beach chairs and a shade umbrella if you want to take to local beach which is within walking distance (5 minutes walk east of cabin). There is a detached cabin in the back of the property where family or friends stay. Most likely you will not notice them and they will be using their own entrance to large yard. Sonoma County requirements- Quiet hours must be observed between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m. No outdoor amplified sound is allowed. Guests will have access to deck, gas BBQ. Parking on the street is easy. Please do not block driveway of gates. Enough parking for 3 cars in front of cabin. Guests will be able to access heartwood through an electronic keypad. Owner is reachable by phone. Co-host is nearby. Will communicate through email, txt, phone. Access of Heartwood is through electronic key pad. Neighborhood is small, beautiful and within walking distance to the river. Since we are so close to river there are cabins nearby but still a lovely spot to relax and enjoy the spa. River access is a 5 minute walk east of cabin. (From cabin turn left to go towards downtown Guerneville you will go right on 116 and in a minute or 2 you will pass the condos and see a dirt lot where you turn right through the pedestrian gate and walk down to river.) In the summer you can picnic, swim and enjoy the sun. We supply chairs, umbrella and small ice chest. For a place to rent kayaks or canoes drive 5 minutes west to Monte Rio there is a large beach with rentals, or rent a canoe at Burke’s in nearby Forestville for a fun trip down river park in their lot and they pick you up later and bus you back to starting point. Tennis courts are behind the nearby Oxbow restaurant which is a short walking distance. Bring your bikes and bike to Armstrong woods state park and downtown Guerneville for lunch or dinner. Restaurant within walking distance- Baked on the River (bakery for breakfast and lunch). The location is perfect to visit wineries, beaches, redwoods, dancing in Rio Nido or Guerneville and kayaking, World class wineries are nearby on west side road. Pacific Ocean is about 30 minutes west with Bodega bay to the south and Jenner to the north. Also many lovely towns nearby such as Cazadero, Occidental and Bodega and other small nearby picturesque villages. You can easily bike to downtown Guerneville in 5-10 minutes or drive there in just a few minutes. Nearby is a Safeway. Armstrong woods park is 15 minutes away by car. You can spend time on the wine road or drive to bodega bay or many of the small nearby towns such as Monte Rio, Occidental, or Cazadero. Heraldsburg is also a nice 30 minute drive from cabin with wineries along the route on west side drive. I am also told that taxis are easy to find the local taxi company is Bill's Taxi. Also if you search for wine road Russian river you will find a map and listing of the russian river wineries. This area is a place of relaxation, beauty, fun and endless activities. Or on your way to Guerneville, Korbel Winery has free tastings and you can pick up a copy of free wine road map, they also have a great deli where you can eat at winery or pack up for a picnic. The cabin is limited to 4 guests as there are only 2 queen beds for sleeping and other areas in the cabin are not set up for sleeping.
