JIREH House is part of the Emu Bay Holiday Homes complex and has the perfect position in our 5 acres of gardens and trees, with spectacular views over Emu Bay. With a 12 metre deck it's great for outside living with BBQ, nearby cubby house and play equipment, and lots of room for groups of all sizes. A 3 bedroom 2 bathroom house that sleeps up to 10 people, well equipped for self catering for your home away from home. The space For your safety, our staff and the Kangaroo Island Community Emu Bay Holiday Homes is a No Vax/No Stay property as of 01/12/2021. The view of the beach and the space is what makes Emu Bay Holiday Homes unique. Easy to see kangaroos and koalas with lots of outdoor space for kids to play without bothering anyone else. A lovely cubby house entertains the kids for hours. Families, sports groups, fishing groups, hikers etc. all love roomy Jireh House with lots of outdoor space to play bat and ball, kick a football etc. Guest access Guests have access to the whole house. Each unit or house at Emu Bay Holiday Homes has its own space and is set apart from the others making it private and quiet. All units have their own stunning sea views of Emu Bay Beach. Other things to note With any luck a kangaroo family, a koala or two, echidna's and certainly many birds may visit you during your stay. Make sure to wander on the property and look for them and keep your bird bath topped up too. Emu Bay is renowned as a lovely beach to walk on with its hard white sand and about 4 kilometers long. It is a very safe swimming beach with crystal clear water and you can drive on to the beach making it very accessible for people of all ages and a favourite destination for tourists and locals alike. If you bring your rod, fishing can be done of the jetty and beach to get some fresh whiting or squid for your dinner! There is also a boat ramp to launch your boat, and ample safe parking for your boat. Please clean your fish at the boat ramp though! Fishing charters and dolphin watching tours also operate out of Emu Bay. There are no shops in Emu Bay, but Kingscote, the main township is an easy 15 minute drive away with access to restaurants, fuel, take-away, cafe's, grocery and liquor stores. Lucy from KI Kitchen supplies in house meals delivered to your unit ready for you to heat or BBQ. Her food is delicious and you can "eat out" from your own patio enjoying the view! Especially nice after a long day of sightseeing. Please ask for her menu if interested for pre-ordering. The Emu Bay Lavender Farm is open from 9am - 5pm and does lovely breakfast, lunch and cakes. Emu Bay is ideally located for exploration to the beautiful beaches of the North Coast but also a day trip to Flinders Chase National Park and other South Coast attractions. If you are planning to arrive by ferry, you need to book your ferry in advance as ferries can book out. We are happy to do this for you at a slightly discounted rate. Please contact us for the ferry booking link. Vehicles can also be hired in Penneshaw at the arrivals terminal, but again recommend pre-booking. Penneshaw is a 50 minute drive from Emu Bay. If you are arriving by air it is recommended that you book your vehicle in advance too for pick-up from the airport which is about 15 minutes drive from Emu Bay.
