For comfort in all conditions, the house includes a 36,000 BTU air conditioner and a 5 kVA inverter to keep essentials running during load shedding. The space Chalet 40 is a fully equipped holiday home set within the peaceful Silver Ranch estate, surrounded by oodles of beautifully maintained, privately owned garden grounds. The homes are arranged in a single row around a secure, fenced game enclosure, creating a sense of both openness and privacy. Thoughtfully furnished, the chalet offers uncluttered accommodation for up to eight guests, with three ground-floor bedrooms and a spacious loft that doubles as a playroom for children. All living areas and the three bedrooms are on one level with step-free access, making it ideal for families and guests of all ages. To ease the inconvenience of load shedding, the chalet is equipped with a wired 5 kVA inverter. And while Plettenberg Bay enjoys a mild, temperate climate, a powerful 36,000 BTU air conditioning unit—installed in 2025—ensures comfort during occasional extremes in summer and winter. The heart of the home is its open-plan living area, combining a comfortable lounge, dining space, and a fully equipped kitchen. The kitchen features a gas hob, electric oven, microwave, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, and a four-seater breakfast bar. The dining table in the entrance room seats six. The outside table at built-in BBQ seats eight. A separate scullery includes a washing machine, tumble dryer, drying racks, iron and ironing board, vacuum cleaner, baby cot, and beach umbrella. After a day of enjoying the South African sunshine, guests can unwind and cool off in the estate’s shared non-heated swimming pool—just one of the many features that make Chalet 40 a perfect spot for a relaxing family getaway. Guest access You will have the whole house and gardens to yourself. Other things to note Wi-Fi is fast, unlimited, and fibre-based, ensuring reliable connectivity throughout your stay. For entertainment, the chalet features a 2022 50" Samsung UHD Smart TV paired with a Samsung soundbar for an enhanced viewing experience. To keep things running smoothly during South Africa’s load shedding periods, the house is equipped with a wired LinQnet 5 kVA inverter. This system provides uninterrupted power to essentials like Wi-Fi, the TV, lights, fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster, and kettle. Appliances such as the washing machine, dishwasher, tumble dryer, and electric stove are classified as non-essential and won’t operate during power outages. However, the gas hob remains fully functional, allowing for convenient meal preparation at any time. For year-round comfort, guests can make use of the gas-powered Delonghi heater or the high-capacity air conditioning unit to stay warm in winter or cool in summer. The pool is not heated, and salt filtrated. Silver Ranch has direct access to a wonderful beach via a 400m foot path leading directly from the estate. Given that this is a residential estate, guest will be asked to adhere to the Rules of the Estate, in particular to respect the Quiet Times and to so adhere to the speed limit of 20 km/h.
