"You will wish you had more time to spend here!" Kevin "If you’re looking to stay near Port Townsend, look no more. THIS IS YOUR SPOT. Words and pictures don’t do this magical place justice!" * Mariah * Wood fired sauna & 6 person hot tub * Magical Trails to Bay overlook outdoor lounge w/gas fire pit * Family games, puzzle & foosball table * Bluetooth sound system, 55" TV with Roku * Slippers, Robes, Soaking Tub, Rain Shower * Fully Equipped Kitchen * Several outdoor seating spaces & BBQ The Nest is a delight to the senses. Our home in the trees invites you to listen to the birds calling, savor a cup of tea in an outdoor nook, or stroll our wooded lane to 'The Overlook', with wide open views of Discovery Bay. Spa Indulgences include uxury in the large soaking tub and rain shower, 6 person hot tub, & outdoor wood fired sauna. We’ve thought of every way to pamper, including slippers and robes. Entertain with games for all ages, secret spots to discover, and a bird treasure hunt. Entering "The Nest" via the ground level, you'll find a warm tiled entry with door to the back yard spaces and hot tub. Plenty of storage for hats, coats and shoes. You'll find the washer/dryer unit tucked away in a closet here. The first bedroom is on this floor and has a cozy seating area around our vintage malm freestanding fireplace. We have installed a wall mounted heater in addition to the wood stove for chilly winter nights. The sofa in this room converts into a full bed for extra sleeping options, and those who prefer not to negotiate the ladder to the 3rd floor sleeping loft. On the middle floor you'll find the 'heart of the home"; with full size, fully stocked kitchen/dining room, living room with large flat screen TV and DVD player, and finally a full bathroom with luxurious rain shower and soaking tub. There is a deck off the dining room cafe table and chairs; a great space to enjoy your morning coffee and watch the deer that frequent the yard. The top floor 'nest' boasts the light-filled master bedroom perched in the treetops with queen bed & ensuite full bathroom. The home’s 3rd queen bed is accessed via sliding ladder; which is only recommended for older kids and agile adults. Underneath is a reading/work nook with desk. Lastly a family room area with sofa bed, gas fireplace and foosball, with access to the impressive heights of the 3rd deck in the 'treetops' with rocking settee. Regarding Covid-19 Washington state may require masks to be worn indoors and also outdoors where distancing is not possible. If visiting from out of state please check the state and county sites to determine what restrictions are in place. We have adopted all required extra precautions when cleaning to prevent Covid19 Virus spread. We are disinfecting all surfaces and especially high touch areas such as light switches, door knobs, with EPA approved disinfectant, between bookings. Drying linens on high heat to sanitize, and airing out the guesthouse between bookings. The home is private and the indoor and outdoor areas are for your sole use when you stay at the Nest. You are welcome to explore the many paths crossing our acreage and especially to the "overlook" with wide open views of Discovery Bay. We have a local host available for immediate concerns and I am always available via phone or messaging :) The Nest is located on 3 private acres with a long view to Discover Bay.. the perfect place to watch sunsets! We are 10 minutes drive to Port Townsend a quaint seaport town on the national historic register, and home of the Northwest Maritime Center & Wooden Boat Restoration. There are miles of trails in Port Townsend and surrounding areas, including, North Beach, Cappy Trails, Fort Worden, and the Larry Scott Trail (trailhead is approx 2 miles from the house) A car is needed to access The Nest due to its rural location, it is not well serviced by public transportation. It is accessible virtually year round with any vehicle. Parking for small RV possible on the property (with electric hookup). It does snow on occasion and we have a parking pad close to the road in case of snow and for those who prefer not to reverse up or down the twisty driveway (there is limited turning areas in front of the home) We love our neighbors so our priority is to 'be neighborly' With that in mind we do not allow parties or loud music and and ask our guests to respect our county ordinance of quiet after 10 pm. To prevent unauthorized use of of the Nest we have mounted security cameras at the entries to our home.
