This delightful house is tucked away in a grove of trees overlooking the Vermont Saltpan,which is a bird sanctuary. Recent solar panels on the roof feed into a battery and inverter system. Loadshedding is no longer an issue. This tastefully furnished, four bedroom home, is fully equipped caters for upto 8 guests. The perfect place to getaway from it. The Saltpan is fed only by rainfall and run-off from the mountains and in years when there has been low rainfall the pan often dries out. The space There is a fully-equipped kitchen and a comfortable dining and lounge area. The living area has a fireplace which makes the house cozy in the winter. The large verandah at the front of the house has a built in braai and offers spectacular views towards the mountains and across the lake. An ideal birdwatching spot. The trees at the back offer a cool place to shelter from the summer sun. The Pan is fed by winter rain and so the levels fluctuate with the seasons. Guest access The house is a short stroll from the ocean tidal pool and only 10 km away from Hermanus which offers great beaches, mountain walks, markets, and many fine restaurants. The area has many nearby vineyards offering wine tasting. Golfers have a choice of three golf course nearby. The area is known as one of the best land based whale watching destinations in the world. Other things to note There is a basic rate for four people and then an increased charge per person above that.
