Sunset Retreat is part of the Gwithian Retreats collection of characterful coastal properties. Unwind in a private outdoor bath under open skies at this handcrafted shepherd’s hut, combining traditional charm with modern comforts. Just a short walk from Gwithian Beach, it’s ideal for surfing, paddling and coastal walks. The coast path, nature reserve and dog-friendly cafés and pubs are within walking distance. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome. The space Sunset Retreat features a roll-top outdoor bath, offering a special place to relax under the stars while listening to the distant sound of the waves. Inside, the shepherd’s hut is open plan, with a well-designed kitchen and sitting area. The kitchen is fully equipped with a full-sized double oven, fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle, and all the usual utensils needed for self-catering. The sitting area includes two comfortable armchairs and two large bean bags, creating a relaxed space to unwind and watch television. A log burner adds warmth and atmosphere, and a fold-away dining table provides seating for up to four guests. The bathroom includes an enclosed shower, wash basin and WC. At one end of the hut is a king-size bed, accessible from both sides, with two small single beds above, reached by ladders. Storage is thoughtfully provided beneath the beds, along with a small wardrobe and shelving at the end of the sleeping area. Underfloor heating throughout ensures the hut remains warm and cosy, even during cooler months. Outside, the enclosed garden provides a safe space for dogs and includes a picnic bench, perfect for enjoying the sunsets the area is known for. A hot outdoor shower is also available, ideal for rinsing off sand after a day at the beach. There is off-road parking for up to three cars. Other things to note Sunset Retreat is a shepherds hut at the back of Parc Place, 6 Prosper Hill. As it is not a separate address supermarket deliveries and post struggle to find it. Parc Place can sleep 6 guests and can be booked as the same time as the shepherds hut to give more space. The gardens are connected via a gate. Electric cars can not be charged at the hut as the electricity is shared with Parc Place which is an old cottage. Unfortunately we are unable to accommodate personal requirements for bedding. Please contact us if you would like to know what tog duvet if provided. Mobile reception for some providers can be limited and guests may need to use wi-fi calling instead. Guests camping or guests/extra guests staying in mobile homes/vans is not permitted.
