Close to the beach. Located in a quiet, historic street in the heart of Broadstairs, moments from the beaches of both the quieter Stone Bay and lively Viking Bay and the town’s shops and restaurants. Bleak House Lodge, and garden is the perfect location for a seaside getaway. The property was sympathetically renovated, maintaining an authentic period atmosphere. The south facing, private, walled garden is a beautiful sun trap, which can also be enjoyed from the garden room. 1 small dog allowed The space The house was built in 1801 in the grounds of Bleak House, made famous by the novel of the same name by Charles Dickens. Sympathetically decorated, including stripped wooden floors, caste iron radiators and open fireplaces, an authentic atmosphere has been maintained. There is a separate living room, which leads onto a garden room, which has seating and a dining table. A separate dining room, two bathrooms, one downstairs and one en.suite, and two bedrooms, one double and one twin. There is wifi and a smart TV for guests use. Guest access Guests may arrive anytime. You have access to the whole house and garden. For guests with small children there is a travel cot, bed guards, high chair,and a door to the staircase from the Dining room. Free parking is available on the street. Other things to note There are regular festivals and events thoughout the year in Broadstairs and the surrounding area, notably Broadstairs Folk Week 5th -12th August. Dickens weeks and the food festival. Check the internet for other events. Lovely walks to Ramsgate and Margate, or easy transport links to both. Also day trips to Deal Whitstable and Canterbury.
