Remote country cottage in West Yorkshire, >5miles from Todmorden & Hebden Bridge. Property is located down a private farm track. Accommodation; kitchen/diner, 2 double bedrooms with low ceilings, shower room WC, enclosed private garden, well behaved pets welcome, located on valley top with amazing views and immediate access to the surrounding countryside. The space Our cottage is located in a lovely rural location, surrounded by walks and mountain biking tracks, with impressive panoramic views across the Calder Valley. Perfect if you love being outdoors in the beautiful West Yorkshire countryside. Todmorden with its fab market and pubs is a 30-40 min walk down the valley, and Hebden Bridge a 15 min drive. The cottage is completely self contained, attached to our farm house, but with its own parking and small private garden area. Our family of 4 live next door in the farm house with 1 dog and will normally be around at the weekends and sometimes during the week if you need anything, but don’t worry, we’ll give you plenty of space during your stay. Our neighbourhood consists of 2 other stone farm houses on a country track, accessed off the main road - Kebs Rd/Long Causeway. You will pass both of these and cross 2 further fields before you reach the cottage. We are in a remote location, there is no nearby public transport, so if you come without a car please be prepared to pay for taxis. Nearby we have Blackshaw Head village, a few miles along the Long Causeway towards Hebden Bridge, where you can find the New Delight Inn and May’s Farm Shop. The New Delight is a 50 min walk from the cottage and outside the pub is a bus stop for Heptonstall and Hebden Bridge. Todmorden is a market town with an industrial heritage and an eye to the future with its internationally acclaimed self sufficiency scheme known as Incredible Edible. Its indoor and outdoor markets (open weds to sun) has stalls selling local farm produce. The popular Hebden Bridge has many boutique shops, café’s, restaurants, various festivals and an annual Car Rally. Further afield are Haworth and the Bronte country, Keighley and the Worth Valley Steam Railway. Halifax with its Piece Hall and Eureka museum, the National Trust area of Hardcastle Craggs and the Singing Ringing Tree in Burnley; all are within a radius of 10 miles. From Todmorden and Hebden Bridge there are excellent rail links to Manchester, Leeds, York and Blackpool. Available for short term holiday lets we try to be as flexible as possible in accommodating your needs. Please note there is a minimum 3 night booking over bank holidays. We care are about the environment, and provide separate bins for recycling and ask that guests use these. Guest access In the cottage there is a washing machine, and tea and coffee. There is a smart TV and selection of games. We also provide towels and bed linen. Other things to note If you are keen to get out and explore the area I highly reccomend bringing walking boots/wellies and a waterproof coat. We are on top of the Pennies and whilst it is beautiful to be out in the are the weather can change pretty quickly.
