Maison Palmeral: Cathar Castles and Forests

Our two bedroom home is situated in a quiet village near the majestic Pyrenees mountains in the region of Occitanie near Andorra, Spain and the Mediterranean. It is a place of natural beauty and tranquility with forests, streams, clean air and spring water. The nearby forests contain many animals, notably wild boar, deer and different species of birds and walking trails. Nearby are the towns of Rennes-les-Bains, Esperaza, Rennes-le-Château and several Cathar castles. The space There will only be you in the house during your stay, no one else. Children under 12 years are free. Guest access You have access to the entire house. You will not share the house with us or anyone else. Guests can enter the property independently after check in and vacate the property by use of a lock box. In addition to your lockable private bedroomsand bathroom, you will have access to downstairs study/dining room, salon, kitchen and patio. You can park your car in front of the house. Other things to note From the village you will be able to view the snow-capped peaks of the Pyrenees. Beyond them is Spain and Andorra. Natural flora and fauna abound here, especially birds of various types one can always hear singing, such as swallows and warblers with the occasional hawk and eagle high above. Within the area are many small towns and picturesque villages such as Alet-les-Bains where the famous medieval astrologist and prophet, Nostradamus lived in the 16th century; the mysterious village of Rennes-le-Chateau which is the site of the legend of the Holy Grail, the grotto of Mary Magdalene and the Da Vinci Code. Close by is the town of Rennes-les-Bains, famous for its hot springs and spas. Last but not least, there are the medieval Cathar castles of Aguilar, Peyrepertuse, Puilaurens, Queribus and Montségur less than an hour's drive away.
