Wildwood Retreat House with Pool+ exotic orchard

Wildwood is a special rainforest eco retreat in the heart of Cape Tribulation set on a rare exotic fruit orchard which guests can freely explore. It has a large 3 bed house, 2 rainforest cabins and a private swimming pool as well as plenty to entertain children including a basketball hoop. It is set amongst over 800 trees & 7 acres of World Heritage rainforest, just 10 mins walk from Cape Trib beach, tours, pubs and restaurants. The space Wildwood is set in the heart of Cape Tribulation in the Daintree rainforest on a beautiful rare exotic fruit orchard with over 800 fruit trees. It has a choice of self-catering accommodation which includes 2 rainforest cabins and the main retreat house. Wildwood is ideal for families, honeymooners, groups of friends and couples of all ages to walk, explore the rainforest and nearby beaches and relax in hammocks surrounded by the sounds and abundant wildlife of the rainforest. We recently added a relaxing freshwater swimming pool for guests staying in the retreat house to cool off under the canopy. We also have plenty to keep children entertained, with sports equipment including a trampoline, basketball and table tennis for hours of fun while parents relax by the pool! The house is set on an exotic fruit orchard and guests are welcome to enjoy the fruit from the 800+ trees on the property. They include mangosteens, soursop, jack fruit, marang, rambutan, miracle fruit, carambola, jaboticaba, pineapple, ladies finger bananas and many many more. The grounds at Wildwood include 7 acres of privately owned Wet Tropics World Heritage rainforest with a private walking track. Wildwood also has 2 creeks which run seasonally with the rains and provide beautiful swimming holes after heavy rains. Wildwood is just 10 mins walk to Cape Tribulation beach, pub, restaurants, shops and snorkelling, horseriding and rainforest walking tours. Guest access The main house - Wildwood Retreat - is filled with Balinese handmade furniture and aboriginal and local artist art works. It has 3 outdoor verandahs to relax on daybeds and enjoy the sounds of the forest, as well as a master bedroom with king size bed and ensuite bathroom, a study (which has a double sofa bed and works as a second, open plan bedroom) a large modern kitchen, lounge with fireplace, HDTV and music centre. There is also a large gazebo (7m x 7m) with a bbq area and beautiful handmade dining table to seat 10 which adjoins the house. When four or more guests stay, Wildwood Retreat also includes an adjoining garden apartment which has a king size bed (or two king singles) with ensuite bathroom and large verandah overlooking the orchard. Wildwood has an extensive library of DVDs, books and board games for rainy days, as well as a selection of toys for under-8s which guests are welcome to use. Wildwood is one of the few properties in the Daintree which offers guests the chance to walk through World Heritage listed rainforest on a private, self-guided walking track. The land is home to many rare and endangered species of plant and animal life and the World Heritage listing means the land can never be cleared and will always be preserved for future generations.
