Welcome to Shimla Gypsy, a women- and queer-friendly homestay in a peaceful area near Mall Road (10–12 minutes uphill walk), Shimla High Court, and KNH Hospital. Surrounded by Deodar forests, our homestay offers simple, clean rooms ideal for long stays. We prioritize sustainability with eco-friendly amenities and minimal plastic use. The space The Oak Room at Shimla Gypsy offers a serene escape, embraced by the majestic Oak forest and surrounded by quaint local houses. Run by a welcoming local family, this cozy room provides an authentic homestay experience with thoughtful touches. Relax in a comfortable queen-size bed with cotton linens and microfibre pillows, and enjoy the convenience of an attached washroom with a hot water shower. A wall-mounted work desk with a chair is available for guests needing a quiet workspace. Shimla Gypsy is committed to sustainability, keeping the space plastic-free and providing biodegradable or eco-friendly options wherever possible. For added comfort, guests can unwind in an outdoor seating area with a traditional woodstove, creating a warm and rustic Pahari experience in the crisp mountain air. We also offer special long-stay packages for guests seeking an extended getaway in this beautiful corner of Shimla. Cleanliness and hygiene are always a priority, ensuring you feel at home throughout your stay. Guest access Guests will have a private room within a three-room property, accessible exclusively to co-guests for a quiet and comfortable stay. Each room features a private, lockable entrance accessible through a shared passage area, ensuring both privacy and convenience. En-suite Bathroom Facilities: Every room is equipped with an attached bathroom that includes a built-in water heater for hot water. Common Areas: Guests can enjoy an outdoor seating area with a cozy woodstove, offering a communal space to relax. Additional Options: Heat Blowers: Available upon request for an additional charge. Home-Cooked Meals: Guests may opt for delicious, home-cooked meals at an extra cost. During your stay As a host i am mostly available, in case guests need any sought of assistance. Breakfast, tea and coffee is provided from our house itself. We also arrange for guided History tours, Food Walks and much more on paid basis. Other things to note Entrance pathway leading to Shimla gypsy is a shared one, used by the local residents.
