MORE INFORMATION ABOUT ZELENIKA Zelenika is a little village close to Herzeg Novi in Boka Kotorska Bay in Montenegro. At that time first hotel in Montenegro was build in Zelenika and it meant beginning of modern tourisms in Herzeg Novi. Zelenika is a picturesque village which offers a quiet alternative to mass tourism in surrounded places. Zelenika was established 100 years ago as southeast port and railway station and had at that time immense role in the economy and trade of Montenegro. the old railway station building is still preserved as well as some other building. The railroad was disassembled in 70's and at the place of old railroads PET DANICA WALKWAY was built. PET DANICA WALKWAY It extends along the seashore from Zelenika to Igalo, along the tracks of a former railroad and is 8 km long. Due to its proximity of the sea, extraordinary flora and its effects on one’s body, this Walkway is very often called the »Path of Health«. THE BEACH Nicest beach in Zelenika is Lalovina where you can enjoy sunbathing until late evening hours. Apart from surrounding places (Meljine, Savina) you can also take boat trip to Luštica peninsula, which lies opposite to the town. Popular Luštica peninsula beach sites include Dobreč, Žanjic and Mirište (or Rose). Rose is an old fisherman village, now days known as place where film and theatre actors are having holidays. KOTOR BAY The Gulf of Kotor Boka Kotorska in western Montenegro, is a winding bay on the Adriatic Sea. The gulf, sometimes called Europe's southernmost fjord, is in fact a submerged river canyon of the disintegrated Bokelj River which used to run from the high mountain plateaus of Mount Orjen. It is an important tourist attraction in Montenegro. The gulf has been inhabited since antiquity and has well preserved medieval towns. The picturesque towns of Kotor, Risan, Perast and Herceg Novi are - along with their natural surroundings - major tourist attractions. The religious heritage of the land around the gulf — its numerous churches and monasteries — makes it one of the major pilgrimage sites of the whole region.
