The space A cosy 150 year old semi-detached cottage slate cottage with original inglenook fireplace and exposed beans, set on the hillside with a small group of other houses, half a mile above the village of Penmachno in the peaceful Machno Valley, four miles from Betws-y-Coed and within easy reach of many of the major peaks. The cottage has been recently renovated and modern comforts such as a new kitchen area and shower room have been installed. It has been tastefully furnished with a blend of modern and antique furniture and original watercolours. This peaceful cottage is set in a rural hamlet with bedroom views towards the hills at the back and across the valley at the front. Entering through a small hallway into a cosy, open plan living and kitchen area with an inglenook fireplace housing an Aga woodburning stove and exposed beams. The kitchen area has has all you should need for a memorable stay, with an antique oak table and chairs which are ideal for a family meal or perhaps a romantic dinner for two. Upstairs are two bedrooms both with hotel quality 10 inch thick sprung mattresses and pure cotton bedlinen. The double bedroom to the front offers far-reaching views and a cosy twin room at the rear is ideal for children. A modern ground floor shower room extension completes the accommodation. Outside, there is off road parking to the rear of the cottage for two cars. There is a sunny patio area and seating at the front, where you can sit and unwind with a good book or the morning papers in peace and tranquillity. Guest access Access to the entire property Other things to note The cottage is 160 years old and has steep stairs, there are some uneven steps up to the front door, and it also has a wood burning stove which can get very hot. As a result it is not suitable for infants.
