Tui's Secret - private peaceful nature retreat

We love to welcome you for a rejuvenating time in our unique hideaway in nature! The view over Tasman Bay is breathtaking! You are surrounded by lush regenerating bush with diverse birdsong and wildlive. Treat yourself to fresh spring fed water. This is a truly relaxing place in privacy, off-grid. Enjoy the funky creative kitchen, open air shower or a soak in the fire bath, or some quality time in our cosy hut. All this is close to Motueka, stunning beaches, Nationalparks, etc The space Our upgraded solar power system brings more comfort to your experience living 'off the grid'. Besides charging your devices we have now a power saving Gram fridge/ freezer to keep your goods cool. Spring is here! Stunning!!! And the weather fluctuates between hot, cool , wet and stormy. We recommend to bring appropriate clothing. We supply blankets and enough wood to make it cosy and comfortable for you. You will be sleeping in "The Hut" on the hillside with bay-, bush- and mountain views and ambient nature sounds. The balcony invites to chill and enhances your experience of nature's abundance. You might enjoy the comfort of warmth inside on our spacious couch (pull-out- bed) indulging in your favourite book. Your bed is at the maisonette, accessible via a steep ladder. You can see the moon rise over the sea and a magic sunrise tickling you in the morning! Below on the main level, is the funky "Shelter", a diversely created outdoor living space encompassing a kitchen and dining area. Four different building techniques have been played with to create this special space. A car park area is close by, away under the shelter of huge trees. Below the 'Shelter', nestled in the bush, is your outdoor bathroom, the "Tub", a shower and bath. Water is heated via gas for the shower, or a fire coil oven enabling a long hot relaxing soak under the stars. Let us know if you like to have a FIRE BATH and we will assist you (due to fire safety AND set up). As nature is our host, we treat our environment with full respect and gratitude and use no chemicals. Please use the eco dish wash liquid and soap provided. Similar, our "Loo with a View" toilet is a clean odorless composting toilet overlooking bush and sea!!! Enjoy!!! Guest access To get up here please turn right onto the first drive at the 7 letterboxes, EN 276 and keep on going straight for about 2.2 km, Never Turn Right, always stay left until you sight the sign Tui's Secret at a fir tree on your right, before an open gate. This is the driveway up, turn right onto this last steep 80m long drive to Tui's Secret (left branch). If your car doesn’t like steep roads you can park below and we'll assist you. We are looking forward to welcome you and introduce you to this quirky place in nature. You are very welcome to walk to our wee river down our property, up the hill to more spectacular views. If you like to buy some fresh eggs or vegetables let me know. No wheel chair access! Other things to note On this special piece of land we care for our animals e.g. 2 dogs, 2 cats, chicken, duck, sheep, ... We are grateful and respect the wildlife around us, like deer, goats and pigs, you will hear or maybe see. This is a natures retreat and NO PARTY PLACE. Please respect this! I dropped the cleaning fee, so please leave the place as tidy as you found it! Also, our special character invites you to take a break and get away from "It All", NO wifi, screans, etc... Phone reception is perfect. Fires are permitted unless you see the sign 'NO FIRES" if too risky in dry conditions. Smoking is only permitted outdoors, in the "Shelter", NOT up in the "Hut".
