Description
Green Valley Homestead is a stylish holiday house in a quiet rural setting on Flinders Island. The cottage is situated on a productive sheep and cattle property, five minutes’ drive to the township of Whitemark. Green Valley is on the doorstep of some of the most spectacular beaches and walking tracks on Flinders including Trousers Point and Fotheringate Bay. If you love to hike then take the Mt Strzelecki challenge – a 756-metre uphill climb that offers stunning views over Bass Strait. The space The secluded cottage garden is the perfect place to chill and enjoy your time on this exquisite island. The fully equipped kitchen is a joy to cook in. The large, open plan living space is light-filled, offering views of the garden and farm. The sunroom is a calm and beautiful space for reading and relaxing, and has a glass sliding door onto the deck. The property is fitted with reverse cycle air conditioning and has a wood fire heater to create an even cosier environment during the cooler months. The house has two generous queen-sized bedrooms and a third with twin singles. Beds are all fitted with designer, 100 per cent cotton bed linen, electric blankets and hotel quality mattresses and doonas. There are two bathrooms – one with a shower and heated towel rail and another with a bath. Sheridan towels add another quality touch along with body wash, shampoo, conditioner, and a hairdryer. Fresh flowers from the garden have been beautifully arranged by the owner and left in every room of the house, as well as magazines. Arrive to the smell of freshly made bread and open the fridge to find eggs straight from the owner’s chookhouse. Breakfast is provided for the first morning including muesli, milk, tea, coffee and condiments. There is also a laundry, BBQ, picnic equipment, iron, and board games. Guest access The cottage is located down a long driveway off Butterfactory Road and is extremely private. The house and its surrounding garden and orchard are available for your use. Other things to note You may spot the owners in their Ute or on a quad bike in the paddock but don’t worry they won’t disturb your holiday.
