Enjoy your Stradbroke Island holiday at the wonderful ideally located Green House. With a private frontage position the architect designed house is one of the closest to the beach - great decks, lookout tower, delightful natural coastal bush and some ocean views to the Moreton Island sand dunes. Entry to beautiful Home and Cylinder beaches is just a couple of minutes walk . The famous Straddie Hotel, shopping facilities, Bowls Club, restaurants and more are all easy walking distance. The space The house design is ideal for family and friends to share. Two separate living levels allow privacy when desired. The large main protected deck and full kitchen are perfect for sharing happy times or just relaxing. The whale watching tower is easily accessed off the main deck. This spot is perfect for sunset pre-dinner drinks and to enjoy the views and company. There is often a variety of local wildlife to watch from the deck including koalas, wallabies, kangaroos, bandicoots, the occasional goanna and numerous birds. It is worthwhile to read all the listing details on the house including house rules so you are fully informed. Remember low season weekly stays have a substantial discount except in peak holiday periods. Guest access The whole house Other things to note CHECKIN/OUT TIMES. We do our best to provide an early check in or late check out when requested. This is often ok but depends on bookings and cleaning and repair services. WiFi. There is unlimited WiFi available and the access information is in the house. LINEN. (LINEN is NOT PROVIDED) Most guests bring their own linen to suit their group numbers and bed usage. This is more economical for guests as linen hire is more costly than normal being an island. Linen is shipped to the island from a mainland commercial laundry and transported across the island to the supplier. A linen pack is prepared and delivered to the house on the checkin date. If you wish to hire linen it is provded at cost only. we do not receive any commission for linen hire. Bed layout is: - 2nd Floor, main bedroom 1xqueen, Bedroom 2 1xdouble and 1xsingle, - 1st Floor, 1x queen, lounge room 2xdouble futons. Images of all the bedrooms and lounge areas are on the website. Please advise your requirements at booking or as early as possible so the service can be priced and arranged. The current cost of linen is advised in a message after booking. OTHER As the house is highset be aware there are stairs between levels in case a guest has mobility difficulty. CHECK OUT PROCESS Full check out information is on the fridge door and includes the following. - All rubbish must be removed from the property and the bins put on the kerb on Sunday as bin collection is early Monday (much appreciated). - Dishes utensils and cutlery are to be washed and put away and the house left in a tidy condition. - Hired linen only must be removed and put in the supply bags. - Please turn off all lights, fans and heaters and CLOSE ALL WINDOWS to prevent rain entry. - KEYS must be returned to the KEY SAFE and the CODE JUMBLED. Check you have taken all your belongings particularly chargers, jewellery and clothes including items placed in drawers and wardrobes. ESSENTIAL HOUSE RULES as described below must be accepted and followed when booking and occupying the house. The rules are for the protection of all guests, the local neighbours and community and the property. 1.0 Parties and noisy late night gatherings are not permitted at the property. Excessive noise and loud music which intrudes into neighbouring properties is not permitted at any time. The house as booked is an accommodation venue for a maximum of 9 people. While we wish guests to fully enjoy their stay by all means and have visitors on occasion, it is not a functions venue for parties or large gatherings of any kind. Overcrowding is not permitted. Do not proceed with booking if you do not wish to comply with these requirements. 1.1 We are unable to accept bookings from young adults under 25. 2. It is prohibited both by house rules and local laws to park or use any form of tent, camper trailer, caravan or recreational vehicle with sleeping on the property. There are two official camping grounds within walking distance of the house. 3. Pets are usually not permitted although some exceptions are made for smaller quiet animals. 4. We understand that normal breakages and accidents occur as well as normal failure or malfunctioning house facilities. It is greatly appreciated if you report these to Barbara as soon as possible so that they can be rectified promptly. PLEASE ADVISE of any URGENT matter such as a serious WATER LEAK or electrical failure as soon as possible. 5. WASTE BINS. Waste disposal is a major problem for the island at all times and critical in holiday seasons. Please put bins on the kerb on Sunday as collection is very early Monday. Islanders are doing all they can to prevent damaging waste overflowing waste bins and entering the local environment, beaches and ocean. All collected waste has to be taken back to the mainland.
