Hovel House Shed

The Shed has been custom built, in the paddock, near my small barn conversion. It has a homely atmosphere, with vintage furnishings and up-cycled items. Where possible I’ve tried to be eco friendly. This is a quiet, tranquil place with beautiful views of the Scottish hills beyond the Solway Firth. It’s part of a small hamlet and my former family farm. Animals are often kept in the fields next to The Shed. You’ll experience stunning sunsets and starry skies. The space The main living area has a sofa and a sofa bed (large double), TV, DVD player, piano, guitar and a selection of films to watch as well as books/games. The kitchenette has a kettle, toaster, George Forman grill, two ring plug in hob, microwave, small slow cooker, small air fryer and fridge with small freezer compartment and plenty of crocks for 4 people. The bedroom also has TV, chest of drawers, hanging space and hair dryer. The only hot water in The Shed is the electric shower. You’ll need to boil a kettle to wash up. You can use the shower to fill the bathroom sink. Guest access There is a private seating area for guests to enjoy with a pew and garden furniture. Guests are also able to use the grassy area in front of The Shed and the leafy lane behind the property. The lane continues (at your own risk, as it’s overgrown) until you reach a gate which is my boundary. Dogs have access to the sitting room and outside area but must be ON A LEAD and NO ACCESS IN THE BEDROOM. The lane leading up to the property is access only. Other things to note If you have booked for two people and require extra bedding for the sofa bed, please let me know in advance. There’s no extra charge if you are staying for two or more nights. Well behaved dogs are allowed in the sitting room ONLY and must be on leads, when outside the property. There is an extra £5 cleaning charge if you are bringing your pooch. ELECTRIC CARS may be charged only in an emergency using a conventional plug socket and will incur a payment of £20. The only hot water in The Shed is the electric shower.
