Dar 91 (2) Romantic medina loft 360° terrace views

A funky and colourful duplex apartment perfect for romantic holidays, Dar 91 Zhuzh (Two) has a roof terrace with amazing, 360 degree views across the medina and to the sea. It is in the district of Chbanat, a quiet, mainly residential corner of town, where you can still experience the 'real' Morocco, living among local families and artisanal workshops. The apartment has easy access to shops, parking and transport links; the Atlantic Ocean is less than 10 minutes' walk in either direction. The space We designed Dar 91 Zhuzh (Two) as a private, colourful and romantic space for couples to relax and recharge. The apartment is set over two floors. On the lower floor is a beautiful open plan living room/kitchen (simply equipped), with stained glass French windows looking out over the new town. Upstairs is a spacious double bedroom, with a candlelit shower room and a fireplace. There is also a mezzanine chillout area, with a staircase leading up to the stunning roof terrace…secluded as it is the highest in our part of town. Zhuzh is entirely self-contained but shares a door to the street with our other, smaller studio apartment Dar 91 Tlata (Three). The apartments can be booked together if you're travelling as a group. Please note: some of the stairs in Zhuzh are quite steep - so this apartment may not be ideal if you have restricted mobility. Guest access Cars cannot enter the ancient medina of Essaouira, which is fully pedestrianised - so when you arrive you will need to come to the house on foot. The Dar 91 Apartments are conveniently located just inside the city walls on Rue Chbanat, a street running from Bab Doukkala down to Biba Chbanat (also known as Petit Bab Marrakech or the 'Little Marrakech Gate'. When you book we will send you the exact address, and organise a time for myself, Paolo or one of our staff to meet you. We are five minutes' walk from the main car parking area, and the Supratours bus terminal, outside Bab Marrakech. If you're arriving at the CTM bus terminal, just take a short taxi ride to Biba Chbanat and walk from there. Outside Biba Chbanat you will find cartmen who can bring your luggage direct to the house. Other things to note Your booking includes all bedding and towels (not beach towels), and we provide you with coffee, tea, sugar and a bottle of water. If you would like us to deliver fresh breakfast ingredients every morning, this is possible for an additional fee paid locally. The apartment has wi-fi, a bluetooth speaker and a hair dryer. In winter we provide an electric blanket, a gas heater, and can supply wood for the fireplace (at an additional fee). We can also offer home-delivered food, laundry service and babysitting, to be organised and paid for separately. We can also offer accompanied trips, for example to the local hammam and country markets. We are strongly committed to sustainable tourism and are passionate about the need for holiday providers, especially in developing countries – and their guests – to do what they can to help the local community wherever possible. Since we opened in 2006 we have given a minimum of 10% of our profits to local good causes.
