Our bespoke Shepherd’s Hut offers a cosy glamping escape with uninterrupted panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, perfect for a romantic break. Located on our small site at Erw Glas, inside you’ll find a king-size bed with Egyptian cotton linen and feather duvets, a smart TV and kitchen area. Outside enjoy your private decking and enclosed garden, plus a fire pit and wood-fired hot tub for evenings watching the sunset. Our friendly alpacas and free-roaming chickens also live on site. The space Erw Glas is a small, multi award-winning family-run camping and glamping site in the Conwy Valley, offering a collection of unique shepherd huts, star-gazing glamping tents, bell tents and a small camping field. With beautiful mountain views and plenty of space for children to play, it’s a great base for exploring the best of North Wales. Our friendly and curious alpacas live on site and guests can often watch them grazing nearby or wandering over to say hello. We also have a small flock of free-roaming chickens who are full of personality – cheeky, curious and always on the lookout for snacks, often wandering around the site to see what everyone is up to. Each shepherd hut has its own private outdoor space with seating, a fire pit and a wood-fired hot tub, perfect for relaxing in the evenings while taking in the views. The hot tubs are wood-fired and usually take around 1–3 hours to heat depending on the weather. For a little extra convenience, we also offer a hot tub pre-light service for an additional charge so it’s ready for you to enjoy sooner. Bathroom facilities with free heated showers and individual toilets are located just a short 30-second walk from the huts, including a larger family shower room. Inside reception you’ll find our small on-site shop and coffee bar serving fresh coffee made with locally roasted beans from Conwy, along with hot chocolates, syrups and alternative milks – perfect for starting the day before heading out to explore. We also offer optional extras such as breakfast hampers, as well as cheese and wine hampers and towelling robe packages for special occasions. Erw Glas is ideally located for exploring the surrounding area, with Gwydir Forest, Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park, Zip World, Betws-y-Coed, Conwy and the North Wales coast all within easy reach. The area is also very dog friendly, with many local pubs, cafés and walking routes welcoming dogs. We are a dog-friendly site and welcome well-behaved dogs. As we have alpacas and free-roaming chickens on site, we ask that dogs are kept on leads and supervised around the site at all times. To ensure everyone enjoys their stay, we kindly ask guests to respect quiet hours across the site after 10pm. Other things to note Our friendly and curious alpacas live on site and guests can often watch them grazing nearby or wandering over to say hello – many guests enjoy taking a photo with them during their stay. Please note the hot tubs are wood-fired and can take approximately 1–3 hours to heat, depending on the weather. A hot tub pre-light service is available for an additional charge if you would like it ready sooner for your arrival. Firewood for the hot tubs and fire pits is available to purchase on site. Erw Glas is a dog-friendly site and well-behaved dogs are welcome. As we have alpacas and free-roaming chickens on site, dogs must be kept on leads and supervised around the site at all times. Dogs listed under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 are not permitted. To ensure everyone enjoys their stay, we operate quiet hours after 10pm across the site.
