The space The Balthasar Ress winery is one of the leading VDP wineries in the Rheingau. The Balthasar Ress Suite is located in the old manor house of the Ress family from the 18th century, formerly the residence of Bishop Heimes, in one of the most beautiful wine locations of the Rheingau, in Hattenheim. Equipped with various design classics - furniture by Ray & Charles Eames, USM Haller, Naoto Fukasawa, lights by Ingo Maurer and an Arco by Achille Castiglioni - the Balthasar Ress Suite offers an exquisite and elegant atmosphere for guests with high standards. The amenities are rounded off with an international wine selection in the Gaggenau wine refrigerator (billing according to consumption), a Bang & Olufsen TV, Marshall music box, Nespresso coffee machine and pantry kitchen. The bathroom with rain shower is equipped with high-quality Dornbracht fittings. The box-spring double bed offers the highest sleeping comfort. Guest access Our guests have exclusive access to the wineBANK Rheingau during their stay! As a guest of the Balthasar Ress Suite, you also have access to the opposite wineBANK Rheingau - a private members club for wine lovers who store their wines there - via a membership card. Just take a bottle from your suite and go down there in the evening. In all likelihood, you will meet other interesting people from the region there. Other things to note Bed linens, towels, shower gel and shampoo are of course provided. The pantry kitchen is a "cold kitchen" without an oven and without hotplates, as we want to avoid impairments of the living space by odors (it is an open floor plan). The kitchen contains in detail, just to name a few important things: Bread toaster Nespresso machine Kettle (for tea) egg boiler Various glasses (including high-quality wine glasses) Flatware Cutlery High-quality knives Juicer Nespresso capsules and sugar sticks Napkins selection of tea bags If you do not want to prepare your own breakfast, you can have breakfast at the Hotel Zum Krug with the Laufer family 200 m away at Hauptstrasse 34 in Hattenheim from 7:30 am to 10:00 am for €15/person. Please note that you are guests of the Balthasar Ress Suite. As a welcome, a bottle of Balthasar Ress "Von Unserm" Riesling dry (the signature wine of the winery) awaits you in the room - on the house! When booking, the tourist tax for the Rheingau-Taunus district is automatically charged (€2/person per night) and then paid by us accordingly. *** SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY *** As a company, Balthasar Ress is particularly committed to the environment, the region and its employees. Balthasar Ress regularly supports numerous charitable and cultural projects in the region and has been certified organic since 2019. All employees at Balthasar Ress (of course also the employees in the housekeeping of the suite) are employed in accordance with the legal regulations (they receive at least the minimum wage, are insured, are entitled to paid vacation, etc.).
