Bramblewood - Pool, Dog-Friendly Garden & Beaches

Bramblewood is a wonderful dog-friendly cottage at Trevalgas Cottages, perfect for a traditional beach holiday in Cornwall. Just over a mile and a half from dog-friendly award-winning sandy beaches – great for bodyboarding & coastal walks. Enjoy a heated swimming pool, good WiFi, children’s play area, games room, parking & private enclosed garden. Peaceful countryside views. With 3 bedrooms & 2 bathrooms, it’s ideal for a family of up to 6 plus baby in a travel cot. Up to 2 adult dogs welcome. The space LOCATION Bramblewood Cottage is part of the select Trevalgas Cottages Estate, set in beautiful countryside just 1½ miles from Bude & its three Blue Flag sandy beaches. It is next door to our other holiday cottages, Blackberry and Briar Patch, which are also available to rent. All three are single-storey and detached. There are lots of reviews to read about us as a host. SWIMMING POOL Enjoy an early morning swim from 8am every morning. The heated pool is shared between 14 holiday cottages. It is open for between 10 and 12 hours a day (depending on the season), so it is usual for guests to have the whole pool and changing rooms to themselves, as other cottage guests are out and about during the day. It is open every day of the year except New Year's Day and Christmas Day. SITTING ROOM & DINING AREA The open plan sitting room is a very sociable space. It has two leather sofas, a 43" flat screen wall mounted TV, and a great selection of books, for family time at the end of the day. The dining area connects to the fabulous kitchen, meaning that chefs can chat to everyone while preparing a feast! KITCHEN With a dishwasher, ceramic hob, large fridge freezer, microwave, kettle and toaster. There are enough pots and pans to prepare a gourmet meal, and extras such as baking parchment , foil and tupperware for summer picnics. BEDROOMS 2 double bedrooms and 1 twin bedroom with travel cot, all with views over private garden. The beds will be made up for your arrival. BATHROOM The main bathroom has a power shower over bath with basin & WC. SHOWER ROOM/CLOAKROOM There is also a separate shower room, with large walk-in shower with basin & W.C. CHILDREN ( please bring your own!) Babies and toddlers welcome. We provide a travel cot, (suitable for babies up to 3 years of age), a bed guard, highchair, a toddler step, night lights and socket covers. We hope children will discover a new favourite book from the large selection in the cottage. PLAY PARK The play areas for toddlers and older children are in the meadow behind the cottage, safely accessed through the rear garden gate. There is a climbing frame, swings, a Wendy house, a slide, some springy animals and a large crawl through tractor. There is also a set of goal posts to practice goal scoring/keeping. As the play park is just through the rear garden gate, you can sit in the garden and keep an eye on the children if you wish, from afar. There are also two benches in the play area if you wish to be with them there. GARDEN Enjoy a BBQ in the large landscaped rear and side gardens, or a morning coffee on the front terrace overlooking the rolling countryside. The enclosed garden is private and secure for toddlers. We have a selction of garden benches, tables and chairs in the garden too. DOGS WELCOME We welcome up to 2 adult dogs, but ask that they are not left unattended in the cottage They are not allowed into the bedrooms unless you wish to bring your own bedding to use. We do not accept puppies or young dogs under 12 months of age. We do not accept other pets in the cottage, unless by prior arrangement, so please enquire first before booking. NON SMOKING We ask any smokers/vapers to only smoke outside the cottage. Thank you. LAUNDRY There are three large washing machines and tumble dryers in the Laundry room within the pool building. (There's a card payment system for these.) GAMES ROOM There is a games room with table tennis and pool table, over in the Pool Building, that you can access at any time of the day. (2x 20p are needed for the pool table). BUDE In North Cornwall, but just over the border from Devon, the town provides plenty of activities for the adventurous. It has 3 beaches awarded Blue Flag Status again in 2025 (and another 4 nearby) patrolled by lifeguards between May and September, a seapool, several adventure centres (climbing, abseiling) and surf schools. Of course there are also delicious Cornish pasties and cream teas you can't visit Cornwall without trying! Guest access We are flexible outside the main season, accepting short breaks and longer stays starting any day of the week. (Otherwise Saturday changeovers in July and August.) Other things to note SWIMMING POOL OPENING: Use of the pool is subject to completion of a form which will be sent to you after booking. Don't worry - these are just general terms and conditions, that we need, to make sure you're covered by our public liability insurance. The pool is normally open everyday of the year, closed on just two days (Christmas day and New Year's day). CHECK-OUT We ask guests empty bins, remove all items from cupboards and fridge/freezer, leaving the cottage tidy, and put any used china/crockery in the dishwasher, add tablets we provide and switch on before leaving. WHY IS THERE NO CARBON MONOXIDE DETECTOR? We don't have a gas boiler or any gas appliances in the cottage, so there's no need for a carbon monoxide detector. There are smoke detectors, however, and our fire extinguisher and fire blanket is professionally inspected annually. All the portable appliances are also professionally (PAT) tested every year for your safety. BATHROOM TOWELS Sets of bathroom towels (one bath sheet & one hand towel) are provided for each guest over 3 years of age. NON SMOKING/ VAPING The cottage has a strict policy of no smoking or vaping in the property.
