Cosy riverside cottage on the banks of the Severn

*Fri 12 Dec update - we have just had a Christmas cancellation so have updated accordingly :) The Three Doves is a family home in a quiet and rural spot on the banks of the Severn, just Awre. In its former cowshed sit 2 converted cottages; this one is well-suited to families with children, with both a master & twin bedroom. The space The south-facing French window entrance looks onto a traditional apple orchard, whilst the living / kitchen windows offer views down to the River Severn. The master bedroom has a generous king sized bed and in built storage (cupboard incl. a little hanging space). The ensuite has a bath with an overhead shower. Bramley products are provided throughout. The twin has two singles, a chest of drawers (and the option of a pocket sprung camp bed) if requested. The ensuite shower room is clean and functional, but definitely the cottage's achilles heel and lacks style. Both rooms Egyptian cotton bed linen and large, fluffy white towels (bathsheets, handtowels and bathmats). The cosy kitchen / sitting room has underfloor heating and a wood-burning stove (firewood included) for relaxing winter evenings playing boardgames or curling up in front of the television. And when summer arrives, prepare a feast of locally-sourced food on the barbecue, at the foot of the apple orchard. The sitting room has a smart tv with Netflix included, radio and Bose speaker. The kitchen has an electric hob/ oven, fridge (with small freezer compartment), dishwasher, microwave, kettle and toaster. For coffee lovers, either a cafetière or a Lavazza espresso machine (some pods for your first few days provided) There is a small laundry room (with washing machine, tumble drier, ironing board and clothes airers) which is shared with the adjacent cottage. We provide eco-friendly cleaning products and a regular clean for stays longer than one week. We're in a lovely spot and have plenty of recommendations - I can send you our favourite places, just let me know. We also include a little welcome package with home-baked bread and local produce. Welcome to pick from the vegetable garden, and please help yourselves to the fruits from the orchards - plums, pears and apples! Guest access Don't clean your car before you arrive - the farm track down to us is exactly that and you occasionally need a little patience whilst the cows or sheep move out of your way. * December - the pot holes on the drive are v prominent at the moment so do take it slowly. Probably unsuitable for nervous drivers of little cars! Other things to note The Severn has an enormous tidal range so shift any expectations of wild swimming to the nearby Wye.
