Ironbark House & Horse Riding is situated on the ridge line gazing out across the outback. This totally off-grid 1345 acre property has its own solar power system, harvests all its own water and is located on the outskirts of the Atherton Tablelands in the farming district of Dimbulah on route to Mt Mulligan and Chillagoe. Just constructed with 2 large bedrooms both with spacious ensuites, separated by a welcoming kitchen/dining/living area with a generous verandah across the front of the house. The space The Accommodation: Please note that the nightly rate of $285- is for up to 2 people sharing one bedroom. If 2 guests require separate bedrooms/bathrooms there is an extra $50 charge, so please book the 3 person rate and contact me with details. If there are 3 guests wanting full use of the house (both bedrooms and bathrooms) the rate is the same as for 4 guests ( please book for 4 and contact me with details). If the 3 guests are sharing one bedroom/bathroom then just book for 3 guests only. Sorry in advance for any confusion this may cause, Air BnB's booking system is not very flexible to individual pricing. Please feel free to contact me any time for clarification on this. If you would like to stay for just 1 night please contact me with your request and we will try to accommodate you. Bedroom 1 has a King bed which can be split into two singles if required. The generous room has full sized wardrobe, seating area, direct access onto the verandah and spacious en-suite. Bedroom 2 has a Queen bed and a day bed which can be converted into a King bed or 2 singles. Wardrobe, en-suite and amazing views finish this room. The Kitchen is well equipped bearing in mind that this house is totally dependent of solar power generation, so you won’t find power hungry monsters like dishwashers and coffee machines here, but has all the essentials for a comfortable stay. The oven and cook-top are gas, there is a generous fridge, tea, coffee and basic condiments are provided. The combined Dining and Living area, which like every room in the house has amazing views is equipped with dinning table for 6, VAST TV which offers plenty of channels, there is good mobile and internet reception (no WI-FI). There are two verandahs to make the most of the sun (or shade) during the day. The main one comes complete with BBQ, alfresco dinning and seating area. Sit and watch the sun go down while being entertained by the local wildlife. We have a 2 night minimum for Saturday night bookings, but please contact us if you would like to stay for 1 night only. Ride the Outback. Private horse riding available. A fantastic way to see the property, all experience levels can be catered to on well behaved horses. This is an exclusive ride and we only take a maximum of 3 riders at a time, if your group is larger we will split it into 2 rides. 1 hour $109 2 hours $159- 3 hours $209- Please contact owners directly for more information on horse riding and guided wildlife tours. Guest access Guests are free to hike around the entire 1345 acre property with over 25km of marked trails. Alternatively we offer guided wildlife, birding and farm tours with a guide of 20 years experience. These tours are a must, really informative and fun, especially for overseas visitors. We can do either a mix of walking and vehicle tours or just walking only tours. Please book and pay direct with owners. Other things to note If you would like to book for only 1 night please contact us for availability. Regardless of the number in your party you will always have the house to yourselves. We just ask that if you are booking as a couple you only use one of the 2 bed/bathrooms. There is no air-conditioning as the house is off-grid and designed to catch the almost always present breezes. This completely private 1345 acre working cattle property has a mix of wildlife habitat, with a healthy bird population of well over 100 different species found on the property, as well as it’s own colony of rock wallabies. A network of trails cover the entire property accessible by a variety of means 4X4 (on tours only), horseback, mountain bike or of course by walking. There are 6 dams on the property, the two largest are a hive of activity with numerous water birds including the cotton pygmy goose. Or sit quietly and watch the cattle slake their thirst accompanied by a mix of native animals. If you’re feeling fit climb to the top of Ironbark Hill for stunning 360 degree views.
