Romantic Shepherds hut with private garden

Nestled in a quiet wooded corner of our garden on the edge of the village of Martinstown. Fully self contained, the hut has everything you need inside and is in a great central location, close to Dorchester and just a short drive to Weymouth and Chesil beach. Fantastic walks, bike rides and lovely Jurassic coast beaches are nearby. We love to share our beautiful little corner of Dorset with both new guests and those of you have have stayed before. Check out our wonderful reviews! The space The Shepherd’s Hut is in a private and peaceful space nestled in the far corner of our garden amongst mature trees. Well insulated, and under the shelter of the trees, the wood burner warms you up quickly in cooler seasons. Hot water bottles are provided for the cooler nights. The insulation and tree cover also keeps you cooler on very warm summer days! Everything you need for a break away from it all. Tea, coffee, Dorset biscuits and a bottle of fresh organic milk from our local dairy farm will be waiting for you when you arrive. The decking area outside the hut is south facing and gets the sun most of the day with some dappled shade from the trees. Two comfortable seats for your evening drinks or morning coffee listening to the birdsong. In the field in front you will often see hares and sometimes deer. You also have traditional deckchairs if you want to sit on the lawn next to the small pot bellied barbeque. When you've finished cooking you can take off the grill and put a couple of logs on to keep warm. If you're quiet you might even see a hedgehog while you sit there! When the weather is good you might like to hang up the hammock between the trees and have a little snooze! Inside - Full sized double bed with memory foam mattress. Duvet, 4 pillows and spare blanket are provided . (10.5 tog duvet is provided as standard. If you would prefer a warmer or cooler one just let me know) 2 bath towels, 2 hand towels, bath mat, tea towels and washing up cloths are provided. If you prefer to bring your own linens and beddings just let us know in advance and we will get the hut ready for you without. The bathroom has a shower, wash hand basin and loo. Toilet roll and hand wash soap provided. The kitchen area has a 2 ring gas hob with whistling kettle and an electric microwave combi oven. Electric toaster. There is also a small fridge with tiny freezer compartment (suitable for a few ice cubes or a tub of ice cream) Separate dining table and seating for 2. The first basket of Logs and kindling are provided for the wood burner or electric heating is available for when you just don't want the effort! DAB radio with Bluetooth so you can listen to your own playlist. USB charging socket. Water is heated by a gas boiler- just turn on the hot tap. Fast WIFI Guest access The hut is all yours for the duration of your stay. Dedicated parking space for one car next to the hut. Two cars by prior arrangement. The bus stop is a few steps up the road. The X51 First Wessex bus stops 2 hourly and goes in the westerly direction to Bridport, Lyme Regis and Axminster or Easterly to Dorchester and Weymouth. Various good Taxi companies based in Dorchester can transfer you from the train station if you do not drive. Other things to note The nature of the hut is that it is small. Space within the bathroom is limited. Headroom is good throughout the hut . The bed is a standard double 4'6" wide and 6'2" length (with no space to hang your toes over the end if you are very tall!)
