We have 2 gîtes set in extensive private gardens in the countryside 4km from the centre of Bergerac. It’s incredibly peaceful and relaxing and there is a 12m pool and various garden games such as table-tennis, croquet and boules for you to enjoy, or you can just put your feet up by the pool with a good book. We have a high-speed internet connection and a place to work in each gîte, so now we are all set for business travellers too. The space Quatre Saisons is located in an acre of secluded, wooded gardens, in the countryside to the north of historic Bergerac, where you will find a vibrant café culture, historic attractions, vineyards, Châteaux and markets. Outdoor life is great here with our 12m pool, barbecue and garden games on site and fishing, canoeing and paddle-boarding nearby. Being located in the heart of the countryside, it is the perfect place for peace and relaxation, but of course this means you will need a car to visit the restaurants, bars and shops in town. It also means that in the summer months there will be insects and mosquitoes in the garden and surrounding woods. For your comfort, we provide mosquito nets, electric insect devices, citronella candles and plants round the patios to deter the insects. However, we strongly recommend that you pack a mosquito repellent spray for those nights under the stars. It is very warm in south western France in the summer months so we provide electric fans for your comfort. There is no central heating in the gite. Printemps, is heated by portable electric radiators. These will be available in autumn and early spring, should you require them. We do not have the ability to provide charging for electric vehicles at the property. There are many places nearby which offer high-speed charging. If you have an EV and you would like a list of the charging locations, please let us know. Re the pool, please note: We reserve the right to close the pool or restrict the hours of the swimming use for any period of time, in circumstances which are necessary in the interests of health and safety. We are therefore not responsible for any closure of the swimming pool due to Government and/or local laws prohibiting the use of water for pool maintenance or for any loss or inconvenience that may be suffered as a consequence of any unforeseen breakdown in in the pumping/filtration or any other equipment used in the swimming pool. Guest access The accommodation is a 1 bedroom cottage, all ground floor. We live on-site but at a discrete distance from the gîte. We will meet you when you arrive, to give you the key and answer any of your questions. There is a private patio area and a large, wooded garden. You are free to use all the garden space, the garden games, the pool and patio area around the pool, which are shared with the guests in the other gîte. There is ample free parking in the driveway but cars cannot be parked next to the gîte. You have to cross the garden on foot to get to the gîte. Our pool is open from mid-May to mid-September. It is unheated and there is an alarm and secure night cover. We will not be held responsible for reimbursement or partial reimbursement of fees in the event of a forced pool closure, due to national or local government forbidding the use of water for pool maintenance. Other things to note Check-in is from 16h00 on the day of arrival. We will try to accommodate earlier check-ins on request whenever possible, but this is not always possible. We respectfully request that you leave the gîte clean and tidy when you depart. We do not expect you to do a full clean but we ask that you leave all the doors and windows open to air the gîte. You do not have to strip the bed, but we ask that you do empty the interior bins, the fridge and the coffee maker, do any washing up, leave the shower and toilet clean and sweep the floor. All bed linens are provided, and there is free high speed wifi, subject to fair usage. There is no TV service in the gîte but there is a DVD player and some DVDs. We do not provide towels for your stay unless you are arriving by plane and you have requested towels in advance. When you arrive there will be information given to you with regard to safe pool usage.
