Asterias – or paradise, as most guests call it after a short time – is located on the beach of the clear sea of the Saronic Gulf. Opposite is the island of Hydra, which our guests can quickly reach by water taxi when the sea is calm. Four luxurious beach houses, a pool, barbecue house and village square with a centuries-old olive tree, as well as countless terraces for relaxing, dining and sunbathing – surrounded by over a thousand olive trees, form an ensemble like a small Greek village. The almost forty thousand square meter property has its own beach directly on the clear, fish-rich sea of the Saronic Gulf. Opposite - just four nautical miles away - is the beautiful island of Hydra, which our guests can reach directly from our jetty in fifteen minutes by water cab when the sea is calm. Four luxurious beach houses, pool, barbecue house with stone oven, outdoor kitchen and village square with centuries-old olive trees, as well as countless cozy sunny and shady terraces for relaxing, sitting, eating and sunbathing - surrounded by over a thousand of our own olive trees form an ensemble like a small Greek village. During the renovation between 2020 and 2024, the typical architecture of the region was retained while creating an understated natural luxury. The four existing houses were transformed into light-flooded beach houses with a clear modern architectural line - all decorated with colorful works by well-known, mostly Greek artists. A total of eight luxuriously furnished rooms, each with its own bathroom, can accommodate up to 18 people. Two of the houses are surrounded by spacious terraces directly on the property's beach and on the "Platia", the center of which is formed by a centuries-old olive tree and is designed like a Greek taverna. The other two houses are about 80 meters from the sea. Both houses are surrounded by spacious terraces with various cozy seating areas. One of the houses overlooks the beautiful, heated pool, with the sea and the island of Hydra behind it. The other house is romantically nestled in the olive groves of Villa Asterias. Privacy and conviviality Due to its many different lounge areas and cozy seating options, the property offers both: privacy for every guest but also areas where everyone can come together to relax, eat and celebrate. Extensive water sports facilities Villa Asterias offers all kinds of water sports: swimming, surfing, snorkeling, SUP, canoeing, jet skiing (only with motorboat license), water skiing (only with motorboat license, or with skipper) or the possibility to charter a comfortable thirteen-meter speedboat (built in 2024) with skipper for excursions in the Saronic Gulf. Exclusive COCO-MAT beds for maximum sleeping comfort Our guests sleep on beds from the Greek brand COCO-MAT. These beds are handmade to order, are metal-free and consist of layers of natural materials such as coconut fibers, natural latex, sea grass and horsehair. These materials are hypoallergenic and environmentally friendly and ensure maximum sleeping comfort by evenly distributing body weight and providing the best possible support for the body. To enhance the feeling of well-being during sleep, we use bed linen made from the finest Egyptian cotton. Two of the houses offer fully equipped kitchens that also meet the demands of gourmet chefs: Two state-of-the-art ovens in each case, including steam cookers, induction hobs, refrigerators, equipment for sous-vide cooking, professional appliances such as mixers, waffle irons, sandwich grills, KitchenAid and a variety of professional pots, pans etc., also in sizes that allow cooking for a large number of people. Tableware of the highest quality with, for example, Bone China tableware from Alessi, double-walled glasses from Bodum and wine glasses from Zalto. All houses are equipped with air conditioning, fireplaces (for the slightly cooler winter months), Smart TVs (mostly 64 inch), refrigerators, Bluetooth players (Teufel and Bose), coffee machines (Jura fully automatic and including coffee, drinking water dispensers, hair dryer (Dyson), workstation, seating with tables - inside and outside, gas grill (Napoleon brand), sun loungers, beach towels, sun protection, mosquito repellent, shampoo and conditioner. Modern, heated PebbleTec pool with counter-current system, kids' pool and whirlpool The pool is twelve meters long, five meters wide and a maximum of one meter fifty deep. It is equipped with state-of-the-art pool technology, so the water is always of the highest quality with minimal added chlorine. The surface of the pool is made of PebbleTec - a mixture of tiny pebbles, glass beads and shells that create a unique texture and color. The surfaces have a unique, very organic and natural appearance and are very pleasant to the touch for feet and hands. The kids' pool, which also serves as a whirlpool, measures four by five meters and is a maximum of fifty centimeters deep. By the pool there is a wonderful place with tables for a dinner with romantic lighting. The entire pool area is secured in such a way that children do not have barrier-free access to the pool area if no adults are present. Grill house and "Platia" - the Asterias village square with centuries-old olive tree Directly behind the houses "Barbouni" (red mullet, one of the Greeks' favorite food fish) and "Octopodi" (octopus, eaten everywhere in Greece in various preparations and you can catch it - if you are experienced - right in front of Asterias), lies the "Platia" our village square. In the center is a centuries-old olive tree. Right next to it is the grill house with the possibility of grilling whole lambs, a stone oven for preparing pizza, bread or traditional Greek oven dishes, gas grill, plancha, professional deep fryers, fridge, dishwasher, dishes, sink. Location, location, location Easily accessible by helicopter, car, catamaran or private speedboat from Athens airport, Asterias offers absolute peace and privacy. Only the sound of the sea, the chirping of birds, the chirping of cicadas, the rustling of the wind in the olive trees, the barking of dogs or the crowing of roosters and sometimes the music and laughter of neighbors on either side of our property. Protected by the islands of Hydra and Dokos in the south and the hills up to 800 meters high in the north, the Argolis region is characterized by a calm and very mild climate in winter, hot in summer with light winds - but spared from the strong winds of the Meltemi. Thanks to the light wind and the shady spots under our old tamarisk trees right on the beach, even temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius - which occur for around two to three weeks every summer - are very pleasant. The island of Hydra, a real treasure in the Saronic Gulf, can be reached by our guests in fifteen minutes by water cab directly from our jetty. Hydra captivates with its charming stone houses, which are arranged like an amphitheater on the slopes around the natural harbor. The architecture of the entire island is under high archaeological protection and therefore there are no architectural sins on the island. Cars, motorcycles and bicycles are nowhere to be found. You get around on foot, by donkey or mule or by water cab. Donkeys and mules are used to transport goods. The town of Hydra is a magnet for international artists, designers and intellectuals with a cosmopolitan flair and many cultural events. It is also known for its excellent restaurants with breathtaking views of the sunset and its many stylish cafés in the harbor that invite you to linger for hours. The Saronic islands of Spetses and Poros can also be reached in a short time - by car and ferry or speedboat - and are well worth a visit. The picturesque fishing town of Ermioni with its picturesque restaurants and cafés is only half an hour away by car or 20 minutes by speedboat. The former Greek capital of Nafplion can be reached by car in around 60 to 90 minutes, as can the ancient sites of Didyma, Epidauros with its famous theater - which is used for performances throughout the summer - or Mycenae. Menelaos Oil - Our commitment to organic farming From the olives on our estate, we produce single-variety Koroneiki organic ultra-premium (UP) olive oil under the Menelaos brand. Only two percent of all extra virgin olive oils meet the ultra-premium quality standards We are committed to sustainable and organic farming and carry the prestigious Greek DIO label for high-quality organic products. Products bearing the DIO label must meet strict organic standards that comply with both EU regulations and international standards. We never use herbicides, pesticides or synthetic fertilizers. Our olives are harvested exclusively by hand to ensure the highest quality and to protect the natural environment. We only use our own Menelaos oil in our kitchen. Our fruit and vegetables In addition to olives, figs, apricots, lemons, mandarins, grapefruits and pomegranates grow on our property. Throughout the summer we have a large organic vegetable garden for our own consumption: tomatoes, zucchinis, peppers in all colors, white and purple eggplants, honeydew melons and watermelons. Service Asterias offers a wide range of services. The rooms are cleaned every day and bed linen, and towels are changed at least twice a week - or more often if required. Breakfast, lunch and dinner can be prepared on request. Groceries are taken care of and delivered to Asterias. We are happy to make bookings for water cabs or restaurants. In addition, there are a lot of services that can be booked: Whether it's barbecuing whole lambs, going fishing, diving off the island of Hydra in beautiful underwater landscapes, learning to water ski or working out with a personal trainer.
