Description
Originally the married mens quarters on the farm, fitting 2 married couples, this shack has been extensively renovated and modernised in to a comfortable getaway for a family or couple wanting a weekend or more away from it all, the shack is part of a historic old sheep farm in Western Victoria that is still operated by the family of the original squatter, an easy drive to the Grampians or the world renown 12 Apostles or just stay on the farm and have a look at a farming lifestyle. The space The Shack is located on a 7th Generation Sheep farming enterprise, and has plenty of heritage of buildings and offers an insight of when Australia 'rode on the sheep's back'. Guest access The hill (Mt Koang) approx 2km from the Shack, visitors are free to walk up the hill to see the views of the surrounding district. The historic shearing shed built in 1851 can be viewed with sheep surrounding the shed. The gardens and walls surrounding the homestead. The livestock grazing amongst the open rocky plains. Other things to note Dogs are NOT welcome as we run a sheep enterprise and have multiple dogs here, sometimes it can cause problems, sorry. *Due to the covid19 outbreak we have had to employ a higher cost on our cleaning fee to ensure a deep clean is enabled after each guest, this means more time and cleaning products on our behalf, we hope you understand.
