Gorgeous cosy cottage in the heart of Dolgellau in the Snowdonia National Park. Set in a peaceful and very private location by the river with views of the spectacular mountain, Cader Idris, the cottage will be your home-from-home and a fantastic base for the many activities that North Wales has to offer. The space Cosy and characterful grade II listed cottage with thick stone walls and exposed beams. The house was originally three cottages, which have been tastefully renovated into a single home. Llys Cadwen is a detached house in a peaceful location overlooking the river and just a 2 minute walk to the centre of the charming market town of Dolgellau with its cafes, pubs and restaurants. Guest access Enter this 18th century house through the wooden gate, and walk down the steps to the beautiful courtyard garden and the front door, which leads into a well-equipped kitchen. The kitchen has a range cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. Also on the ground floor, there is a dining room with a sitting area and gas stove, and a comfortable lounge with a wood burning stove, smart TV, DVD player and Bose Soundlink bluetooth speaker. There are 2 staircases: one leads to the master bedroom with king-size bed and en-suite bathroom and a bedroom with bunk beds and an en-suite bathroom. The other staircase leads up from the lounge to another double bedroom with an en-suite shower room. There is a large cellar with a games room, complete with a slate-bed pool table and Winmau dart board, as well as a heap of board games including scrabble, trivial pursuit and chess. Also in the cellar is a separate utility area that has a washing machine, tumble dryer and freezer as well as plenty of space for coats and boots. This is the place to store your wine - with room for more than 150 bottles! There is access to the rear garden from the cellar with views of the river. There is secure storage for bikes and any outdoor gear in the 'old smithy' (a 4th stone cottage that hasn't yet been renovated). Egyptian cotton bed linen and towels are provided and we will leave you a few logs to get you started with the woodburning stove. There is free wifi at the house, and a travel cot and high chair if you need them. Llys Cadwen is full of character and charm, and we are sure you will love it here as much as we do. Other things to note COVID-19 information From 14 September 2020, people are able to meet in groups of six indoors in Wales and must all belong to the same extended household group. Up to four households can join together to form an extended household. The property will be cleaned and sanitised in line with the Airbnb enhanced cleaning protocol.
