shepherd's hut in Carnhell Green

Our idyllic shepherd’s hut is perfect for a quiet holiday. We’re off the beaten track, in a small hamlet, with nearby large farm shop/restaurant. We're just a ten minute drive to the long, sandy beach at Gwithian in St Ives bay. The hut is at the end of our big garden, overlooking fields and has its own outside eating area and fire pit/bbq. There’s a wood stove inside for cosy evenings. This is also a good place to work - quiet and with a table by the window, with views across fields. The space The shepherd's hut is five years old and I have been hosting on Airbnb since June 2021. It is nice and quiet here and ideal if you're looking for a few nights or longer away from your busy life. It is not totally isolated, however, and there are about 10 houses in the hamlet. Everybody is very friendly. If you've not been to Cornwall before, there is so much to do here, especially if you like being by the sea. There are lots of beaches and we can advise on where to go and how to get there. St Ives is also close, Truro and Penzance are both about 20 minutes away, and Falmouth about half an hour. Beyond Penzance there are lots of sandy coves, Lands End, St Just and other places to explore. I am Tom (57), a freelance museum advisor and I make pots, currently studying full time at Arts University Plymouth. I also brew beer and fish a fair bit and can advise on where to try. Guest access This is a great location for west Cornwall and is why I bought the house. There is plenty of parking space and if you're thinking of coming by train, I can probably collect you from Camborne station. I do have bikes that can be borrowed, and there is a limited bus service from the local village. I have a paper map of the area you can browse I and can offer advice on activities and good places to eat, depending on your preferences. Other things to note The mattress on the bed is a standard double: 190cm x 135cm. I provide all bed linen and towels, and also have suitable beach towels if you need them. When you arrive, there will also be some basic food, such as milk, eggs, muesli, coffee, tea, sugar, oil, salt, pepper. There is no additional cost for these.
