DESCRIPTION This spacious self-catering, holiday house was previously a hotel and offers spectacular views of the sea and the surrounding islands, showing the West of Scotland at its very best. If you can drag yourself away from the mesmerising views, then there is plenty to do on the Isle of Bute. There are scenic walks: the West Island Way Walk starts in the same village and the Kelspoke Trail meanders behind the house over the heather covered hills and takes in the glorious sea views. There are three golf courses on the island, cycle tracks, horse riding, kayaking and lots of wildlife to see. For those interested in fishing, there is sea fishing and inland lochs for coarse and game fishing. Close by is Mount Stuart House, an extravagantly decorated stately home. A few miles away is the island’s main town of Rothesay, a traditional Victorian seaside resort. The house is located in the small village of Kilchattan Bay, it has a glorious sweeping sandy beach where children and dogs can run freely. A stone pier near the house is suitable for launching small boats and jet skis. It has a pub nearby with good food. St Blane's House has a large dinning room with a comfortable seating area and an open fire. A separate lounge with the original hotel bar (not stocked !), a log burner and a selection of musical equipment and karaoke machine. Dogs welcome and are likely to enjoy the underfloor heating. There is a large games room with table tennis, pool table, darts board, lots of toys and board games etc. All the bedrooms are to a high standard, two four posters, Most with en-suite facilities. Each bedroom has a different fun theme to add interest to your stay. More information about the house will be provided when booked. The Isle of Bute is easily accessible by a short Ferry.
