Medieval Priory + Tower with Private Pool

This beautiful medieval Priory is an award–winning holiday home in Deux-Sevres. Stay exclusively across our 14th-century Priory and adjoining medieval Tower, sleeping up to 21 guests across eight bedrooms. With generous living spaces, a private pool, gardens, two kitchens, historic fireplaces and centuries of character, the property is ideal for larger families, groups, weddings, events and special stays. Dogs are welcome, and optional extras can be arranged in advance. The space The Priory + Tower offers the full Le Prieuré Pressigny experience, bringing together the main 14th-century Priory and the separate medieval Tower as one private stay. Together, the two houses sleep up to 21 guests across eight bedrooms, making the property particularly well suited to larger families, groups of friends and multi-generational stays - as well as for weddings and special events. The Priory forms the heart of the property, with generous communal spaces including a drawing room with wood-burning fire, study, dining room, fully equipped kitchen and top-floor playroom. The dining table seats up to 12 guests. The Tower offers a more intimate and atmospheric retreat alongside the main house, with thick stone walls, deep windowsills, a large fireplace, rustic kitchen, two bedrooms reached by separate steep spiral staircases and its own private walled garden with firepit. Booked together, the two houses give groups the flexibility to spend time together while still having separate spaces to retreat to. Outside, guests have private use of the Priory garden and swimming pool, as well as the Tower’s enclosed garden and firepit. The pool can be heated on request for an additional €150. Wi-Fi is available, although the thickness of the historic stone walls means the signal can be limited in some areas. Well-behaved dogs are welcome, with a maximum of three dogs across the combined booking. Breakfast can be included as an option at €19.00 per person. Advanced notice required. Guest access Guests booking The Priory + Tower have private use of both houses, including all guest bedrooms and bathrooms, drawing room, study, dining room, Priory kitchen, Tower kitchen, playroom, Priory garden, swimming pool, Tower private walled garden and Tower firepit. The only area within The Priory that is not accessible to guests is the private laundry. Guests have their own washing machine within the accommodation. The host remains onsite in a separate, non-bookable gîte and does not share the Priory or Tower accommodation. Other things to note Both houses are genuinely historic buildings and retain their original layouts and quirks. Guests should expect medieval and spiral staircases, steps and low doorways, uneven historic features, limited Wi-Fi in some areas, and two Tower bedrooms that are not internally connected. The swimming pool can be heated on request for €150. Well-behaved dogs are welcome, with a maximum of three dogs across the combined booking. For the comfort of our neighbours, music and noise in the garden must be kept to a respectful level. Small weddings of up to 35 guests may be possible by prior arrangement. The property is in Pressigny, a small rural village in Deux-Sèvres. Thénezay is approximately 7 km away, with a Sunday market, supermarket, bakery, café, restaurant, post office and other everyday services. The nearest Loire château is around 45 minutes away and Puy du Fou just over an hour away. Poitiers is about 40 minutes away; direct TGV services from Paris Montparnasse can take from around 1 hour 16 minutes. Poitiers-Biard Airport is around 10 minutes from Poitiers city centre and station.
