A newly renovated rustic duplex, faithful to its original essence, in the historic 19th century Cal Casanova house, built on the rock. The story goes that this is where the Prior of the Cartoixa d'Escaladei lived until it was burned down during the Spanish Confiscation. It is said that the walls were full of gold coins from La Cartoixa and that they were found by some masons at the end of the 20th century. It has 2 double bedrooms (one can be a double or not) with a balcony, 1 bathroom, a living-dining room with an open and equipped kitchen, and a huge indoor rock. The kitchen has all the necessary appliances: ceramic hob, microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, toaster, kettle and complete kitchenware (cutlery, crockery, cups, pans, pots, …). The room has a large closet with hangers and towels. You will enjoy a clean, very bright space with all the amenities in the Sierra de Montsant Natural Park: climbing, hiking, relaxation, discovering the culture of oil, discovering wine-growing areas with modern and century-old wineries. Guest access During July and August, a municipal swimming pool opens in Margalef. The entrance fee is paid separately by guests. The price in 2024 is 3 euros per day for adults, children up to 7 years free. In downtown Margalef, in Plaza St. Miquel, the main square in the heart of the village, where the Town Hall, the church and the Vernet café with more than 100 years of history are located.
