A Wonderful Nest is a centenary limestone cottage where shabby antiques, mostly wooden, gain a new life. The renovation project combines the use of contemporary materials that contrast with the old ones, creating an historic and romantic ambience. Located in the center of Algarve, Alcantarilha is one of the last authentic villages of the south coast. Here you can find peace and quiet, kind inhabitants, a traditional market and still be close to heavenly beaches, only 5 Km away. The space The Concept - Designed especially for couples, a Wonderful Nest is perfect for a romantic getaway. The renovation project started with two limestone houses, over 100 years old, combined together to provide a spacious accommodation that includes a cosy enclosed patio. The facade was kept intact, only restored. However, the interior was fully renovated, combining the two original houses into a spacious and luminous open space that ends with an inviting patio where the plunge pool is located. The use of contemporary materials that contrast with the old ones creates comfortable spaces while maintaining an historic and romantic ambience. The House - Kitchen - Opening to the patio, the kitchen seats up to four people, allowing you plenty of room to enjoy a romantic meal while relaxing with the soothing view of the enclosed patio. If you want to enjoy a nice wind breeze, feel free to fully open the wooden glazed doors! It is equipped with an electric oven, with a ceramic hob and extractor fan, fridge with a freezer compartment and a large stone worktop, well lit by the enclosed window, allowing you a pleasant space to cook. Kitchen essentials are also provided, as well as a coffee machine, a toaster and a kettle. - Patio - The gem of the house, this is the place where you can enjoy the warm Summer days and the cool Summer nights. Cool off at the plunge pool, or at the convenient outdoor shower. The water of the pool is fully treated and the pump filters the water twice a day, so you can enjoy the water safely. Relax at the bench or have a snack at the wooden outdoor table, surrounded by the lush plants. - Living Room - It is the perfect place to relax in the comfortable two seats sofa, while enjoying a beverage on the coffee tables and, if you feel like it, turning on the flat-screen cable TV. The floor lamp right by the sofa allows you a well-lit corner where you can also enjoy a good reading. - Bedroom - Looking through the white crochet veil you can still see the patio from this romantic and dreamy bedroom. The spacious queen size bed features a top quality mattress and 100% percale cotton linens. The white decor pillows are unique and handmade by us. - Bathroom - The vanity is a unique piece of furniture, renovated to include an integrated modern sink. The fixtures, as well as the decor, are all finished in old brass, to convey an historic feeling to the bathroom. Guest access All areas of the house are acessible to the guests.
