Description

Welcome to Seaforth! A lovingly renovated fishing shack on 10 acres overlooking Macquarie Harbour. Accommodating up to 4 guests. This cozy yet comfortable shack features one queen-size and one king-size bed. The shack has been renovated with a mix of recycled, new, and natural materials. Two outdoor firepit areas to enjoy. There is an eclectic selection of books, records, and games to explore! The space There are two bedrooms, open plan living and dining, all with beautiful views and large doors going directly onto the spotted gum wrap-around deck. Seaforth has a cosy indoor wood heater, with one bag of wood provided for your stay. There is also two outdoor fire pit areas to enjoy. Along with the wood heater there is a heat pump and air-conditioning unit in the main living space. Oil heater in the bedroom and an electric blanket in the main king-sized bedroom. Heat lamps in the bathroom. There is a kitchen with a dishwasher, fridge and oven, with basic cooking utensils. We encourage a slower way of life here so deliberately don't have a microwave, wifi and we use a kettle that goes on the stove top or a teapot on top of the wood heater. Seaforth has an outdoor heated shower as well as an indoor shower and bath tub. These use rainwater and a water pump which you may hear from time to time as pressures change. There is a nearby farm, that is only operational during the day, sometimes you may hear a beep from there in the afternoon, or the cruise boat's as they pass by in front of the shack or leave town. Thing's echo across the beautiful Macquarie Harbour. We hope our ethos here helps you to switch off and enjoy the simple pleasures of life and your natural surroundings. Guest access Loads of parking. There are steps up to the deck and into the back of the house. There is one undercover car parking space in the garage. You will receive the check in details under itinerary once you book. All doors except the one you enter open and lock from the inside. You may need to squeeze them together to open or lock as this is a little renovated fishing shack with a bit of movement over the years. Other things to note There is approx 2km of gravel road into the property so be mindful when travelling to Seaforth. Large trucks may also be using this road so we encourage you to take care and be mindful of this. The shack is about a 10 minute drive from Strahan. You will need to follow the directions provided when you book as the address will not come up on gps maps. You can buy extra wood from Bunnings before you come or your local service station and IGA in Strahan. You may hear the water pump from time to time as we are on rainwater/tanks. There is a nearby farm, you may rarely hear some noise from them. You can often hear a hum from Ocean Beach as it's wild waters echo across the Harbour and button grass plains xx Registration Details Exempt: This listing falls under Section 12 of the Land Use Planning and Approvals Act 1993
