No. 2 Swanfold is a Grade II listed stone cottage full of charm and character, with many original period features, set in a delightful cobbled courtyard in the historic conservation village of Heptonstall, near Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire. The cottage is thought to date back to the 17th century and is believed to have been part of a Public House and Inn called The Swan, the only house in the fold to have a cellar presumably for the storage of beer. Lounge - Stylishly decorated with stone mullion windows, slate flagstone floor, two comfortable sofas perfect for curling up on after a hard day exploring, feature stone fireplace with cosy wood burning stove, beamed ceiling. Amenities include a Smart TV with Amazon Prime, box sets, on demand TV, apps and games, a book swap library and a small range of games and jigsaw puzzles. Dining kitchen - Fully equipped with microwave, range cooker, fridge, dishwasher and Belfast sink, Victorian pine table and 4 chairs, overlooking the pretty patio garden. Rear hallway perfect for muddy boots and coats, leading to the garden. First floor Master bedroom - Luxurious king-size metal-framed bed with Egyptian cotton bedding, old oak floorboards, stone mullion sash window with relaxing cushioned window seat from which to gaze across the village to the Yorkshire hills, exposed stone chimney breast with Victorian fireplace, large antique wardrobe and dressing table. Bedroom 2 - Comfortable twin room also with exposed stone chimney breast and Victorian fireplace, old oak floorboards, stone window seat, large antique wardrobe, pretty demi-lune table for knick-knacks. Bathroom - Tasteful, newly fitted room with beautiful freestanding slipper bath and separate shower enclosure, WC, basin and mirror, old oak floorboards. Cellar - Housing washing machine and tumble dryer and providing useful storage for larger items such as bikes. Rear garden - Pretty enclosed patio garden with table and chairs and an array of tubs, plants and shrubs. Front courtyard - This is a charming shared fold with an abundance of flower beds, climbing plants and pots. Other Things To Note: There is no parking outside the cottage as the lane is very narrow, but it is usually possible to pull in to load/unload and there is a free “residents’ car park” a 2 minute walk away. This is an old listed cottage and as such has a steeper than average staircase (with a sturdy handrail), which may not be suitable for small children, the elderly, or anyone with mobility problems. We provide a welcome pack of logs for your first evening. Further logs are available to buy in Hebden Bridge and from local petrol stations.
