Description
Weavers Cottage is a detached 17th century stone built barn at the head of the Ullswater valley in the central Lakes. The views are stunning with panoramic views of lakeland fells and over Brotherswater. The place is pet friendly and perfect for guests who love the outdoors. Classic walks straight from the door and secure storage available for mountain bikes and canoes. After a day in the fells, toast your toes by the wood burning stove or enjoy the sunshine in the private south facing garden. The space Weavers Cottage is a cosy upside-down cottage with downstairs bedroom and bathroom and open plan lounge and kitchen upstairs where you can enjoy the views from its elevated position. The house is finished with local slate and Herdwick wool carpets and the original exposed beams. The kitchen is very well equipped for cooking at home. We welcome dogs (2 max) and we ask to keep them off any furniture. We don't charge extra for furry friends, but please make sure you don't leave anymore fluff and scruff than those guests without them. (Please note the garden is not enclosed) Unusually for such a rural property there is super fast broadband and in the lounge there is a TV with Roku streambar . Mobile reception in the village is Vodafone and EE. To keep you warm there is central heating and a wood burning stove. Fuel is supplied in form of wood briquettes, please bring your own firelighters. The cottage is located in the beautiful conservation village of Hartsop at the bottom of Kirkstone Pass and is approached up a quiet lane and has it own private parking. EV level 2 charging at the Brotherswater Inn 1/2 mile away (see photo for details). There are also public chargers in nearby Glenridding. Other things to note Important. Between around Easter and end of September, we only accept Saturday check in and minimum of 7 nights. The odd shorter trip will be made available when other guests have booked more than 7 days.
