Description
The cabins are small but cosy glamping cabins. They are set in a small fenced off woodland next to the Pine Marten Bar and Scran, the well stocked little Glenmore Shop and Snowbadgers rentals. Glenmore is set in the heart of the beautiful Cairngorms National Park - an area renowned for outdoor activities and visitor attractions. The cabins have a bunk bed for two people and a double pull out sofa bed. A kettle and microwave are provided. Toilet/wash facilities are 50m away from the cabins. The space There is also a sauna which is free for use by cabin guests,bring your bathing costume! There is also a washing machine in the washrooms which is free to use, and a tumble drier which is £4/load to use. The cabins are about 40m from the Pine Marten Bar and Scran and the little Glenmore Shop. The Pine Marten Bar is a lovely, welcoming alpine style bar offering a wide range of local and Scottish beers, whiskies and gins. We have great live music at the bar most Friday and Saturday nights in high season with music during the week over holiday periods. There is always a warm welcome for you there. We serve breakfast, lunch and dinner with opening hours varying with the seasons. Glenmore Shop is well stocked with essential groceries, milk, bread, snacks, sweets, ice cream, toiletries, maps and books, essential camping items, beach equipment, sledges and everything to meet every seasons needs - if we haven't got it, you don't need it!! During the summer, mountain bikes can be hired from the hire shop below the cafe. In the winter (snow and weather permitting) the hire shop lets out downhill and cross country ski equipment as well as boards, snow shoes and sledges. Guest access The small hamlet of Glenmore is in the heart of the Cairngorm National Park. There is a wide range of outdoor activities in the area. There is walking for all abilities from gentle forest walks in the Glenmore and Rothimurchus forests, beautiful walks on the lesser hills adjacent to Glenmore or mountain walking in the Cairngorms themselves. Mountain biking on the many tracks and paths around the forest is very popular with both long and short rides available. The cabins are a 5 minute walk from the lovely sandy beach at Loch Morlich. The Loch Morlich Watersports Centre hires out canoes, sailing dinghies and paddleboards providing instruction if need be. There is rock climbing on the mountain crags during the summer and ice climbing in the winter. Cairngorm Mountain ski area is 3 miles up the road from the cabins - one of the five downhill ski resorts in Scotland. If there is snow at forest level there is lovely cross country skiing on the forest tracks many of which, snow permitting, are pisted for cross country skiing and skating. Visitor attractions in the vicinity of Glenmore include the Cairngorm Reindeer centre which organises daily walks to visit the Reindeer herd on the hill. There is a visitor centre in Glenmore which provides information about the area. The town of Aviemore is about 5 miles away, connected to Glenmore by a great cycle path called the Old Logging Way. Aviemore a mecca for outdoor shops, restaurants and bars. A steam railway runs from Aviemore to Broom hill. Cairngorm brewery (who supply our local ales) is well worth a visit and do tours with tastings too. Rothiemurchus estate visitor attractions include various tours, fishing experiences, clay pigeon shooting, quad bike tours and a high rope course. There are lots of outdoor activity providers that organise anything from tubing down the River Feshie to horse riding to go karting and lots more. Within easy reach of Glenmore are other visitor attractions such as the Highland Wildlife park near Kincraig, the Landmark Centre at Carrbridge, the RSPB reserve at Loch Garten (osprey nesting), various local distillery tours (Speyside Distillery, Tomatin Distillery, Dalwhinnie Distillery). Glenmore is a beautiful place to locate yourself to explore our area. Other things to note It is important for guests to be aware that throughout all of November we do not offer evening meals on a Monday to Thursday.
