A Bauhaus educated local architect designed and built the house in 2006 for our family and friends to reflect traditional Sifnos beauty, embrace modern amenities, and provide sleeping space for up to 5 people. This year we are making our villa available for rent so that more people can enjoy this spectacular place with its breathtaking surroundings and the unhindered sweeping views of the Aegean Sea and the ancient town of Kastro below. The space Midway between the towns of Kastro and Apollonia, the house sits privately on a hillside overlooking the Aegean Sea. It is about 250 meters from the main road, accessible by a dirt road. Besides parking for several cars, outside space includes several stone patios for lounging and eating, with 2 chaise lounges, 3 dining tables, a stone charcoal grill, and an outdoor shower. The light-filled inside living space is about 120 sqm (1300 sq ft) with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a great room (dining for 8+, lounge seating for 9+, office space for 2), and a laundry-storage room. The house features throughout 3.5 m (11ft) high wood ceilings with stone floors and updated electrical lighting. The bathrooms are decorated with marble vanity tops set on wooden cabinets, sunken porcelain basins, showers, and one has a large bathtub. Faucet water comes from the municipal system and is satisfactory for showering and cleaning. Guests purchase drinking water in plastic bottles offered in many stores. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishware for 10 and features a large refrigerator, 4 burner electric stovetop, oven, dishwasher, and a microwave oven. Audiovisual services include satellite TV, Apple TV, and a FM stereo radio with speakers in the living room and outdoors. Telephone and broadband WIFI are available. A washing machine is located in the storage room. It is possible for an additional fee to rent a separately accessible downstairs studio apartment (35 sqm; 400sqft)--great room with queen-sized sofabed, kitchenette, built-in desk, closet, and bathroom.
