BaanYok, 100-years-old shophouse in Chinatown

This is a traditional Chinese shophouse located in the heart of Chinatown, one of the most authentic neighborhoods in Bangkok. A district well known for still preserving its original essence and old traditions, if you are staying in my house you are bound to experience up close the charming old city life The space My house is a traditional Chinese shophouse build almost 100 years ago by the immigrants who came to Thailand from Southern China from the mid-19th to the mid 20th centuries. Thanks to its adaptability, the Chjnese-style shophouse is one architecture design that is still being built today. The classic shophouse is divided in different levels, usually the ground floor open the interior to the street for use as business, such as a restaurant, a café or a fashion store while the upper levels are subdivided for residential units. In this case there are a café on the ground floor. This house has two residential floors, with a terrace on the upper floor. I have restored the building preserving as much as possible the original structure and decoration details. It is located in the heart of Chinatown neighborhood, a district well known for still preserving its original essence and old traditions of Bangkok. A quarter that has remained almost unchanged for years. Soi Nana is undoubtedly one of the coolest places in the city, with trendy bars, cafes and galleries. A few steps away you’ll find Yaowarat Road, one of the favorite streets for anyone who loves street food, because this is where you will find those traditional Thai-Chinese old recipes you are willing to die for. The entire house have two bedrooms. Located on the first floor, this room is about 18 sqm. It has a double bed with a firm mattress and shower on the room. The room on the second floor and is about 35 sqm, including a small terrace. Have a shower on that terrace. The roomare quiet, away from the noise of the oxbow of the main street. The both rooms have air conditioning. There are a toilet shared for the two rooms. The rooms have a door equipped with padlock. Located in the basement of the residential units there is a cafe, "BAAN YOK", people can enjoy from breakfast in the morning to a cocktail at night. The first floor room could have some noise from the cafe some times, if you can not sleep well please don't choose that unit.. Guest access The guests have private access to both residential floors. Other things to note This is an old house with the inconveniences of the antiques but with the beauty of those. We have preserved the original architecture, the house is over 100 years old, you may not find the comforts of a hotel. But I assure you that you will feel that the house is super cozy. This is not a hotel but a private house. It has very steep stairs, which make this accommodation not suitable for the elderly or people with mobility difficulties . Around the house the neighbors are usually families who have been here all their lives. I need them to feel good about my guests. It is necessary to make a normal life in the house without noise or trouble, no parties or similar. The house is located in Chinatown which is one of the busiest neighborhoods in Bangkok. Also our street has bars and restaurants around. During the day you can hear the bustle of the street and the vehicles. The lower room could have some noise from the cafe.
