Other things to note There are different options that allow the visitor to get to know the most varied morphology of the province with the distinction of beautiful landscapes that take us from the coast to the mountains passing through El Condado and Andévalo. Nearby are the marshes of the Piedras River Marshes and Flecha del Rompido Natural Area and the Isla Cristina Marshes Natural Area. A little further away are the Sierra de Aracena and Picos de Aroche Natural Park and the Doñana National Park, the largest biological reserve in Southern Europe. The first is home to one of the largest visitable caves in Europe: the Grotto of Wonders, with huge rooms of stalactite and stalagmite formations, as well as interior lakes. Other routes of interest are: the Columbian Places next to the Tinto River, from where the ships that carried out the feat of the Discovery of America departed: La Rábida, Palos de la Frontera and Moguer, the latter, the birthplace of the Nobel Prize Juan Ramón Jiménez; the Campiña, which gives rise to the famous Vinos del Condado, with its own Denomination of Origin, in the southeast of the province; and the gastronomy of Andévalo and the Huelva mountains (Jabugo ham), as well as the mining basin (see Minas de Riotinto), with the largest open-pit mining operation in Europe, and a history that dates back to Roman domination, and even to the enigmatic culture of Tartessos.
