Quaint and cozy vacation cottage in Palawan farm

Two bedroom cottage with big porch fronting ponds/rice field. Perfect for experiencing Palawan's laid back countryside living. It's 10min walk to Honda Bay's longest beach located along the coastal villages of Manalo, Lucbuan and Maruyogon. We are also less than an hour to underground river and the city, and accessible via public transport. Kindly read the entire description before requesting for a booking. We are located in a farm setting where common and indigenous farm animals thrive. The space The house's location is on an elevated ground overlooking a rice field situated on the edge of a private mini forest. It is made of concrete foundation and the walls are a mixture of wood and concrete while the inner walls are a mixture of concrete and native bamboo materials. The bathroom has tiled floor and walls. The bedrooms and kitchen floors are tiled, while the dining area and porch have wooden floors. The bedrooms have screened windows and clear glass louvers that can be opened and closed to regulate room temperature. Although we do not offer AC, the place is breezy and surrounded by greenery. In front of the house are four ponds with local fishes and turtles. Wildlife abounds in the mini forest. Birds, butterflies, geckos, monitor lizards, and freshwater turtles are a common sight. We have our own water system and the house has plumbing and water supply. We are still landscaping some areas of the property but overall, its a peaceful little place where you can relax and enjoy, either alone or with a small group of close friends and family members. The place is ideal for 2-4 people, but you can squeeze up to six persons using tents. Unless specified during your booking inquiries, we only offer one of the two bedrooms to accommodate the first two guests (i.e. you and your friend, spouse, or sibling will share a queen sized bed). However, for booking with three to four guests, both bedrooms will be available. We have one queen size bed on one of the rooms while the other room has a bed frame that can be converted from a queen size to two single beds. Kindly let us know your preferred sleeping arrangement during your booking. For bookings of more than four persons, kindly inquire with us for special arrangements with your group. Guest access You may rent motorbike (either from us or from the city center) to explore the neighborhood and nearby tourist attractions. You will have access to all cooking and dining utensils if you wish to cook your own food, provided that you take good care and clean it after use. We also serve meals if you prefer home cooked meals. We provide complimentary drinking water (purified water). Unless you are a wildlife enthusiast and familiar with wild animals, please refrain from exploring off the trail in the nearby pocket forest on your own. Any forest in Palawan is a potential home to bees, wasps, scorpions, snakes, centipedes, and other critters that you may not be familiar with. Please do not harm these wildlife as there is also the likelihood of harming yourself in the process. The best rule to follow is "If you see something that you are not familiar with, leave them alone or inform us immediately" if you think it may be a harmful animal. Other things to note We offer assistance on tours to Honda Bay Island Hopping, Underground River, hiking to waterfalls, and pretty much anything beyond and between. There are local stores (sari-sari stores) that offer most of the stuffs you find in convenient stores (at cheaper price). There are also several fully serviced beach resorts (one walking distance from my house (1km away) where you can use swimming pool and other facilities. You may preorder meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) and have it served to you during your stay. Meals use mostly fresh ingredients from the village and from our own vegetable garden. Kindly note that all the beaches in Honda Bay are more ideal for beach combing or leisurely walk along the beach, or just wading. You may swim on the beach, esp. during non-monsoon months (April-May) but always wear protective clothing as there are jelly fish. That being said, if you want to snorkel on the reefs, there are island hopping tours in Honda Bay that caters to regular tours on the islands in the bay. If you or one of your companions cannot tolerate the presence or have extreme phobia of wild farm animals like harmless insects and spiders, lizards, geckos and the likes, this is not the place for you. Like any other places in Palawan, city or countryside, we do have mosquitoes outside the house, and they may enter the house too if you leave the doors open on extended period. In cases that mosquitoes, bees or wasps, midges or ants enter the house, you may use the provided bug spray. However, for other insects like large species of moths, butterflies, dragonflies and other harmless animals, kindly find a way to let them escape the house alive and well.
