From your cottage, you are literally one block from salons, quaint specialty shops like Box Turtle, and Gallery 26, where local artists and jewelry makers sell their wares. Some of the best restaurants in the city call Hillcrest home. One of my favs is the Brazilian restaurant, Cafe Bossa Nova. Their food is amazing and they have many gluten free entrees to choose from as does Rosalia's Family Bakery next door. If you want to relax a bit more, walk to Kroger and buy groceries to cook in and watch a movie in your cozy cottage and just stay in for the night. If the night sky is clear, enjoy the stargazing through the skylights from your bed before your slumber. Rise in the morning, grab a sip of orange juice from the fridge and head out for a morning walk or jog through Allsopp Park. The entrance to the park is just across the street. If it's Saturday morn, walk another block to the east and buy fresh Arkansas flowers, vegetables, and fruits, many of which are organic, at the local Farmer's Market. Don't forget to take advantage of the first Thursday of the month's "Shop and Sip" where the shops stay open late, provide a bit of wine and cheese and an occasional street band. Whatever you are looking for, I'm sure Hillcrest will provide and you will love my neighborhood as much as I do. Uber and taxi service is readily available in Hillcrest, as is Rock Region Metro with their brand new buses that stop right out front. They have several bus lines that run from the Hillcrest neighborhood to downtown and many other parts of the city. As I am a Licensed Massage Therapist of twenty years.
