6 people in winter (12 in summer with the ext- House) Wooden and stone cabin, 120 m2. The place is unique, nestled in the height of a wood located in Essonne (8 km from Milly la Forêt), 1 hour drive from Paris. The isolated site is preserved from any construction. Built in wood and stone by an artist in the 60s, restored in 2017 and offers modern comfort in the kitchen and bathroom with sauna, yoga-shala, Japanese toilet, while keeping the original spirit of a casual "cabin". The space The large hut built by an artist in 1965 (120 square meters) is built on the hilltop of the Hochard Valley, without barriers and with minimal impact on the environment. The forest left intact is "his garden" in a large wooded area of 25,000 hectares crossed by long hiking trails. It naturally fits into the landscape offering an unusual proximity to nature. The site classified as a Gatinais natural park by the Essonne Department resembles the large adjoining Fontainbleau forest, with its rocky seas and sandy coves. The property is left in its raw forest state and must be preserved by visitors. (Please be careful with cigarette butts and picking, which is not recommended, likewise it is not recommended to feed the animals that you will not fail to cross - hares, deer, squirrels --- pass through the property very early in the morning - Birds accompany you all day - Climbing meeting 1 hour from Paris, the property is a sports meeting (Yoga and climbing and hiking or horseback riding)--- also famous for its wastelands of stone quarries from the time of Baron Hausmann who exploited them to build Paris- and the cultural activities of Milly La Forêt, the Chateau de Courance, the Cyclope de Tinguely or the Cocteau Museum The main cabin consists of: - A large dining room open to the forest, with a large sofa in front of the fireplace and open kitchen. - A music room workshop with a bay window covered with a glass roof, with barbecue, for a summer/winter living room (1 double bed and extra mattress possible) - A large double bedroom comfort+ - A small bedroom with 1 double bed and 1 single bunk bed. (more for children). - Bathroom with shower (not super hot in winter), sauna (2 people), Japanese toilet and a "Balinese" bathroom (2 outdoor showers in the rocks for the summer) Options- Additional mattresses can be set up in the workshop and a heated design tent (Bedouin style) of 16 square meters is optional for 3 additional people (1 double bed and 1 single) - at 40 Euro per night per additional person... In summer, 4 cabins of 5 m2 each are converted into rooms with views (bay window) overlooking the forest (capacity 3 double beds for 3 cabins and 2 single bunk beds for the 4th) - For leisure in the good season, adjoining the circular terrace, a yoga shala terrace (15 people) overlooks the forest for a practice immersed in nature, under the cover and freshness of the trees. (Very nice view) - Yoga mats, bricks and straps available in the cabin. Various perches arranged in the natural rocks to isolate yourself alone or in a small group (circuit arranged in the rocks for climbing and access to the canopy viewpoint (sunset)... - an outdoor dry toilet is provided on request for groups. Guest access Access is via a forest road (sports cars that are too low are not recommended) Parking - Halfway up the road, 4 cars can be parked and at the end of the road (30 meters from the house), 2 cars can be parked. The house is 8 kilometers from Milly La Forêt - near Dannemois and Videlles - The GPS address will be communicated to you upon booking. House of family and friends offered for sharing, thank you for respecting it, as well as making it clean, like a mountain cottage, dishes done, garbage taken out, reserve of small dry kindling (twigs to be picked up on the ground) and a lighter... for the next guests. House to be handled with care (water consumption, fire risk, nature conservation, presence of fragile sculptures). I leave some coffee and just enough to not starve for those who would not have had time to shop... (please replace if used). No outside guests beyond the number of registered tenants but reasonable possibilities for festivities and of course any possibility of making music! Warning in summer: the house at height is naturally cooler than in the plains, under the shade of trees and naturally ventilated by its through openings... 2 outdoor showers are there to cool you down if there is a heat wave with a nap in the shade recommended (but it can be hot). No barbecue in a place other than under the veranda (which is safe but to be monitored - no cigarette thrown - no candle placed outside at night, etc... dead leaves and thorns are immediate fuels!!!) - The forest is also the habitat of insects and crawling of all kinds, if necessary, therefore to the ecological chain () ... I maintain a breeding of dragonflies nearby and thank you for trying to release them without damaging them when they are trapped in the house under the glass roofs... they eat mosquitoes). Hives are installed below at 800 meters and the bees have become accustomed to coming to drink in the gutters... They are really not aggressive and hunt hornets... (we can afford an Asian hornet, those are harmful - there are few but they have been coming back from the south of France for a few years)- In short, however, provide the necessary in case of various bites, especially for children or those with allergies. (An anti-venom suction syringe is available in the pharmacy box/it works like a suction piston and is very effective). Nearest pharmacy: Milly la Forêt - 8 kilometers - Hospital for big boo-boos (City of Fontainbleau) - about 25 kilometers - Warning in the cold season: in winter, expect to maintain fireplace fires to heat up and therefore also feel the temperature variables between the rooms of the cabin... (for late risers in the morning, you have to restart the fireplaces - cut wood is available outside)... Small additional radiators are present in the bedrooms (well-heated children's room) but the house therefore requires a little effort (that's also good!) Warning very rainy or snowy weather: the muddy dirt road can become slippery and require you (depending on the vehicles and driving habits) to stop halfway or at the bottom of the circuit - Expect then to reach the house on foot to reach the dominant position of the cabin...
