The space 1900 country house ("Maison de Maitre"), in Hautes Vosges, Lorraine, France. Built in granite stone and timber. Recently renovated (new plumbing and electricity), with original fixtures, varnished floorboards and vintage tiling. Walled and gated large garden, surrounded by fields, river, wooded mountains. Our surrounding field is used to harvest hay for a local goat cheese farm. The house has a large entrance hall and wide staircase with cast iron banister. 3 double bedrooms (with radiators) sleeps 6 1 large bathroom (bathtub and shower) 3 WC 2 sitting rooms (fireplace and wood stove) 1 large kitchen (large fridge, induction cooker, wood stove) 1 dining room (wood stove) 1 laundry room (basement) 1 sauna room (basement - shower and wood stove) Storage space. Clean bed linen and bathroom towels are provided, free of charge. No cleaning fee is charged if guests leave the house as they found it, clean and orderly. If not, we can arrange a cleaning fee supplement of 100 EUR. Single-glazed windows with shutters throughout. Heating: - Groundfloor: wood stoves, fireplace and mobile electric heaters. (Firewood available free of charge in the basement). - 1st floor: wall-mounted electric radiators in every room (bedrooms/bathroom). The house can get quite cold in winter so warm (under/)clothing, slippers, etc. are a must. There is no TV, radio or Wifi... just peace and quiet. (Internet available via mobile phone network). Ample parking space available in the garden and adjoining field. Locked garage for bicycles. 4-person sauna room in basement (with shower, wood stove, etc.) Guest access Full access to the property (no sharing with other guests, or owners). Arrivals are after 4pm and departures by 10am. Other things to note Minimum booking of 3 nights. There is no modern insulation or double glazing, so we strongly recommend warm clothing in winter.
